The "You can't do that now, catch you breath and try again" Messagebox

not only dropping or changing channels, but you can't change equips... or change the potion used >.> *by your pet*especially when it runs out... it's really annoying

and when pressing once or twice doesn't work... i start panicking and do stupid things and i die >.>

What doesn't make sense to me is how you can't shuffle around items in your inventory.

Do you mean when you're "breathing"? :f6: I guess they had to put the same block because you could swap equips with your inventory gear or something...but yea. :X

You sure as hell can pick up items off the ground, what stops you from dropping your weapon and picking up a ... a Pinboom Needle or Lycanthrope Toenail to hit monsters with? Or another weapon that's already on the ground? Are the fruits in Leafre going to give shyt about any of this "can't do that now, you're breathing"?

In Oblivion, my brother was playing an alchemist-type character, and whenever he found plants that had alchemical ingredients, he would loot it. No questions asked (unless he would become encumbered to the point of not being able to move). Yes, even while he was running away from some fast monster, he'd still loot the plants. He died a few times too, but that's different xD

Yet you can't attack, even using a one-handed weapon, while hanging on a ladder?

Seriously, MapleStory's definitions of what you can or can't do while "breathing", hanging on a rope/ladder, riding a mount, or sitting in a chair, are not realistic at all.

I'll gladly take your two pages of arguments, as I would be extra glad to write the two pages of counter-arguments. Since you won't, though, I'll give you the highlights (in order of obviousness, no less).

A) Maplestory and realistic being used in the same sentence automatically implies sarcasm.
B) Blatantly false statement being used as fact ("impossible to change what you're wearing/holding while moving"--everyone knows it's quite easy to do that in real life).
C) Over-stressing of said false statement as fact by using not only "Seriously" but also restatement of absolute word in CAPS (IMPOSSIBLE).
D) Starting post with "Obviously" as if to imply Nexon's logic is easy to understand.

There is a difference between the completely fictional things that obviously do not exist in real world and are stupid to point and say "hey, that's not realistic!" like magic and boss creatures and health bars and the things like realism in jumping, changing equips, etc. That do not fall under the category of fiction creation and thus should be close to reality.

There is a difference between the completely fictional things that obviously do not exist in real world and are stupid to point and say "hey, that's not realistic!" like magic and boss creatures and health bars and the things like realism in jumping, changing equips, etc. That do not fall under the category of fiction creation and thus should be close to reality.

For all we know their "close to reality" aspects could operate under a completely different set of rules. Thus I choose the word "believable" when comparing fictional realism, as high believability is usually a good indicator about how well people can relate, and thus how good the fictional universe is. The Harry Potter series? Believable. Elves from the Eragon trilogy? Not believable. (the least of their kind can out-duel the best human swordsmen, not to mention they can completely screw you over with magic because they know every creature's "true name")

I guess it's mostly an academic point of view. Thing is, I don't take MapleStory seriously, but I do like intellectual discussion xD
