You all want him gone after his latest statement, but unfortunately (Or fortunately if you want to see the death of the Republican Party within your lifetime.) that statement just cemented his nomination.
Note how he was met with thunderous applause when he made it. This is exactly what the Republican Base wants. We have a real problem within our country and it's not Trump.

I think they forced him to pledge republican. However, I also agree, if they disqualify him he will spin it in such a way that they "broke the deal".

I prefer anyone to Hillary. ANYONE. I would take Vermin Supreme as a serious candidate before Hillary. I would take a third term of GWB before Hillary. I would take a third term of pineappleing Clinton before Hillary.

It really depends on how low one is willing to go.
The future of the USA is not looking good.
Particularly among the extremists, I would think that since their main goal is to kill themselves honorably or whatever, wouldn't the whole pig thing really discourage them from any potential future kamikaze attacks? I really don't know, is it a "one offense and you are out" kind of deal, or can they still get into their super cool death surrounded by virgins and pomegranate if the breach of rules is forced onto them by another?

There's no possible way to test if someone is Muslim. Even the terrorists didn't walk in carrying Quran's in most cases.

I don't really know.
I do know that the British in India had quite a bit of success letting it be known that their bullets are smeared with lard, or that they'd bury any Muslim they killed wrapped in pig skin. I've no idea whether that success was due to the Muslim insurgents being "superstitious" or it's an actual tenet of the faith that anything pig-related really places an unforgivable taint on their soul.

At least I am not the only one. I would prefer a devil who reveals it rather than a devil who hides it.
Even though it will get me a lot of flak unless Bernie beats out Hillary I'll be voting for Trump.

I'm glad Trump is running to be honest, he's talking about things that need to be talked about. His solutions are absolutely ignorant, but it's causing discussions that people don't want to have, he has lowered the bar and has said the worst thing you could say already. Now we're talking about solutions, that are obviously better than his, not necessarily with Muslims but immigration in general.
I'm going to vote for him for the chaos

Some people just want to watch the world burn. I'm betting he can still come up with worse.

While obviously hyperbole since things even approaching whatever that phrase may be would get you beat to death on the spot by a mob of your own former followers, what do you consider that to be, just the Muslims should be banned comment? Personally, I consider his jokes about wanting to pineapple his daughter to be around equally as bad.

Oh, I mean in context to what he's discussed, definitely not overall

Trump mixing up the playing field and bringing up things that need to be brought up is something good, I agree. But him actually running at the end of the theatrics is a serious problem. If he actually becomes President we are all f'ucked.

You know something I find ironic? A lot of people said the same type of stuff about Obama and even talked about moving out of the country if he got into office.

There's a significant difference here.
The Obama hate was because he was black, presumed to be muslim due to his name (and his name didn't help), and thought to not be a US citizen. Basically, all paranoia.
Trump is proven to be maniacal, says things that are horribly racist and would create huge international tension (if it already hasn't), and cannot be reigned in in any way if he goes out of control (which is almost guaranteed to happen). Basically, all serious problems.
The difference between the two is that the people who think logically and are intelligent, like myself, are the ones who are very, very worried about Trump becoming President, while it was racist bigots who were flipping out about Obama.
I don't give a pomegranate that he's white, old, and a business owner. I give a pomegranate that he's borderline crazy and says things that are complete opposites to this country's founding principles. The fact that he would even suggest that we should shut out an entire religion based on the religion is in complete contrast to what this nation is based on. You never heard Obama make such bigoted statements.
Unless he is actually fooling everyone and does a complete reversal to everything he says he stands for if he becomes President, things will be looking very dire if he gets elected.

Main difference is that the fear of Trump is based on things he says, while the fear of Obama was based on things people thought he was hiding.

Since I've seen this mentioned by a couple people now... What exactly has Trump brought up that we weren't already discussing?
Border security? We've been discussing his wall solution since before Bush. Deportation? Excepting Jeb Bush, I don't think Republicans ever gave up on this idea.
Abortion/PP? Nothing new here except the reversal of his position before running for office.
Economics? No one is discussing specifics beyond tax reform which we all know will go nowhere so he can safely present a plan. Interestingly, he's willing to cut defense spending, but I only found that out by doing specific research so not sure how visible that is in the national debates. I suppose we can give him points for bringing up ways to abuse bankruptcy laws.
Civil Rights? He's a misogynistic, racist bigot, but the only thing new we're discussing is how far his comments will go.
Crime? Zip.
Education? He's said nothing specific except that he wants to gut federal funding and leave it up to the states. Nothing innovative or even interesting.
Energy? Hasn't said a thing.
Environment? Global warming is a hoax and the EPA will be gutted. He's going farther than some Republicans, but that's not new.
Foreign Policy? Nothing but antagonistic rhetoric. I'll grant that he's got a different approach than anyone else.
Gun Control? Same old, same old.
Healthcare? Savings accounts. Not a new approach and not even discussed significantly.
I could go on, but I'm bored now. What exactly does Trump discuss or offer that no one else has? If anything, his antics are distracting the national debate from actual issues and actual solutions. I'm seriously confused where people got this impression. He's certainly willing to say things no one else will, but I've never seen him discuss anything.

That's about all I've gotten from him as well - he's a huge pomegranate slinger and has no problem showing his bigotry but he really does add nothing new to the table. Why vote for him? He's discussed nothing. He's provided no solutions that don't involve camps or forceful ejection of entire classes of people. He's a waste of time.

There's only one subset of people who disliked Obama based on those things, the majority of people disliked him because of his lack of much real experience in a leadership position, and his overwhelmingly bad track record in the very few that he had. He performed exactly as those people expected.
To be honest, we -are- screwed, it's already over for this country because of the last 3 presidents we have had; all of them have done irreparable damage to the country. The debt might as well be in monopoly money at this point. The only real chance we had to get back on track was in 2008, and none of the other candidates were up to the task either. Everything has a tipping point of no return, be it the economy or climate change or whatever else; this country is already in the equivalent of the "oceanic methane bubble release" chain reaction stage of climate change.
Even if this country went full totalitarian natsoc level reform, I don't think it would be enough (from an economic standpoint, it's hard to disagree historically that Hitler didn't boost their economy absurdly to an almost miraculous extent, he just fucked up literally everything else); even at the level of depravity, discontent and economic collapse of post-WW1 Germany, the natsoc party still had more positives to work with than our next president will have, and given the candidates, none of them would be up to the task anyway, aside from maybe Sanders. I disagree with a lot of his stuff but he's probably our best chance regardless at this point. Trump's inevitable turn to independent is a double edged sword, it will secure the democratic nomination due to republican vote splits, but if Hillary gets the primary nomination then it's -really- over. That group that's been correctly guessing the next president for like 30-40 years based on algorithms has predicted Sanders will win the overall election I believe, so hopefully they are right and Hillary will be forced to pineapple off.

What exactly is your problem with Bill Clinton? He seemed to have done a relatively good job in retrospect if we ignore his personal life. The economy was growing. He actually had a budget surplus. Foreign policy was a mixed bag, but at least our wars were short.
