Meh. We've been certain of 5th job coming real soon now since they lowered the job advance levels. That was nearly two years ago, in June of 2012. I'm not holding my breath anymore.

Hopefully 5th will do Aran justice. And reachable at 170.

Not only did lower advancement levels not confirm a soon release, but a release at all. RED's V and the subsequent interview confirms only the latter.

Apparently this change to character cards hint to something, but I don't even know what the Engrish is trying to say.

The spirit looks a lot like some kind of sparkly cherry fruit candy.

Lowering the job advance levels, and leaving us with more SP than we could possibly use, made no sense without a 5th job right around the corner, or at least new 4th job skills.

Certainly the blocking of character cards is a much weaker hint towards 5th job, if that is even what it indicates.

Ok, so apparently, NW's Hyper can create three copies?

Wasn't it obvious enough when all they've done for the 1v1 moves of claw-using classes so far is Lucky Seven -> Triple Throw -> Quad Throw -> Quintuple Throw, with hypers increasing the number of hits further? >.>

And adding three more shadows to boot.

Goodness me... that thing's a second job skill?

It's very pretty though. One of the most detailed fire animations yet and shits on Incising's fire, as an example. But it's clearly reminiscent of its style. I'm gonna guess that it would have a fluid animation as well.

Night Walker seems pretty powerful.
Blaze Wizard, not so much. Seems like more of a training class.

We don't have delays yet but in terms of DoT and damage output, how do you think the Blaze Wizard fare against F/P Arch Mages?

Well considering Orbital Flame is the only skill in the 4th job skill bracket that doesn't have a cooldown, I think it's pretty obvious where its main source of damage will come from... it really just depends what the delay for it is. Although, I do wonder if there's a typo. Orbital Flame doing 3 hits in both 3rd and 4th job doesn't really make sense to me (4 flames but 3 attacks...?).
I'm not going to comment on how I think it compares to other classes just yet.

The fact that Liberated Magic, Brilliant Enlightenment and Truth of Magic are pretty much nerfed versions of existing skills make them out to be quite underwhelming. Unquenchable Flame gives a 60% increase in Ignition's DoT, which would be laughable for a level 30 4th job, even if it were multiplicative. And I won't even speak about Cataclysm... 6020% damage with a 120 second cooldown? Lol.

It seems like most of their damage comes from Orbital Orb + Ignition and they are supported by their cooldown skills. They might be powerful, but skills like Burn and Rest make it feel like Nexon was being very sparing with this job. Burning Region has a nice effect but its duration and cooldown is just harsh. They can't even ignore elemental resistance all the time like some other mages, with Spirit of Flame. Orbital Flame would truly have to be monstrously powerful to make up for the other skills... I think.

And I'm not sure why they even decided to go for the Lucky Seven -> Triple Throw -> Etc. route with Night Walkers. I thought this was supposed to turn Cygnus Knights into their own unique jobs and sever their ties with Explorers? Having been clones of them, and all. So why are like half their skills (still) copies of Night Lord's!?!?

This revamp seems like it is being done by another team of developer lol...

Their skills, damages and etc look so much underwhelming/less OP as compared with the other three.
#35
Meh, for both classes...

I'm confused about this:
Quote:Fire Walk: Instantaneously disappear within a flame and move a certain distance. Passively increases defense. Elemental Shift is replaced by this skill. (max level: 5)
  • Level 1: 11% defense and magic defense.
  • Level 5: 15% defense and magic defense.

When it says that it replaces Elemental Shift, does that mean this skill is a flash jump? because it sounds like a teleport to me. It would totally be a plantainish move for Nexon to make us choose between Flash Jump and Teleport. especially since it passively increases your defenses by so much.

Never mind! thanks for the videos below Mazz.

Also, fairly underwhelmed looking at the numbers. I'll reserve my judgement until I see a video though.

Shadow Illusion is a cool concept but it'll be almost completely useless due to the 15 hit/attack limit. Sextuple Throw is already 12 hits with just 1 Shadow Partner, and 300 second cooldown for a 30 second buff is way too much.

Night Walker videos:

http://www.insoya.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=...0&no=48330 10x Night Walker... HOLY S'HIT those hits/sec, Shadow Partner attacks completely separately (as opposed to Explorer Thief/Xenon equivalent), so the 15 hit/attack limit isn't an issue.
http://www.insoya.com/bbs/zboard.php?id=...0&no=48329 10x Night Walker, shows more movement and the range of the Mark of Assassin-esque bat things

Maybe it's a mid-air Teleport? The name is kinda reminiscent of Wind Walk.

Actually I just saw it in the second video Mazz posted, it's just a flash jump with a flame effect, phew. It shows up towards the end of the video.

Ignition – Max Ignition is actually pretty cool though. First DoT skill to have an interval of less than 1 second?
