When I used to watch it as a kid, my mum used to think I only watched it because she thought I had a crush on Sailor Moon. Technically I had a crush on Tuxedo Mask, but I didn't notice that until years later haha.
She still jokes about it to this day, about how I used to love Sailor Moon.

Oh snap I forgot about Totally Spies, I loved that show too.
To be fair it was totally awesome and had one of the best theme songs ever.

The opening did, too but it got deleted a few hours after Rest assured, it is amazing.

Edit: The opening song is not Moonlight Densetsu either. Completely new song. It's...okay.

If only they didn't over-do the CG motion/rendering (not sure how to call it) and keep it subtle like ufotable/P.A. Works does theirs and keeping it mostly to the background scenery / mobs.

People are peaching about this, but I honestly think if part of it wasn't CGI, it would be too expensive. I doubt anything (save, maybe Studio Ghibli) hand draws everything nowadays. It's a dying and expensive art.

Well I understand if there are budget limitations then this is probably the best way to do it, however I didn't say everything and there are productions who are able to do it without compromising that 'androidish' feel to it. But yes, it all comes to budget and time constraints.

You should watch some films 'drawn' by Shinkai Makoto. Apart from the character design, his scenery is absolutely stunning.

Yeah, it being in 3D absolutely sucks. and the way the face is super imposed on the 3D model at the end, bleh.

Arguments about it being too much work to animate by hand is silly, they've been working on this show for a long while now, and it's stock footage anyway, they only have to animate it once.

I'm a bit disappointed in it.. but whatever. The other girls henshin scenes might be better.

The artwork is great and good quality, the show is just as funny as I remember it being too.
The transformation sequence also didn't look half as bad in the show itself, or maybe it has just grown on me already.

Only thing I didn't like was Mamoru's design. Usagi had a good point, why WAS he wearing a Tuxedo in the middle of the afternoon? I hope that isn't his regular design (he looks more casual in the opening, so I hope that he looks like that from now on).

Now that I think about it, i'm surprised JMS hasn't jumped at the chance to do a Sailor Moon/Maplestory crossover event. Get some Sailor Senshi outfits including compacts for Angelic Buster

Dang Seiyu stardards sure were weird back then, both Usagi and Goku had/have some weird voices.
