[Complete] Scheduled Minor Patch - March 13, 2014

kayeyearekay Wrote:kaisers have had problems with curse bite (afa) since release. still not fixed. still doing less damage than theorized.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the FA glitch still persists on most Warrior classes. I was talking about AFA specifically with Arrow Blaster, though.

Lozmaster Wrote:Wait, final attack didn't work with arrow blaster? Has it always been glitched like that? I wouldn't have noticed because doing a bajillion hits at once already means I didn't even realise anything was wrong.

AFA didn't work with Arrow Blaster since RED. It was fixed in the 1.47 patch (literally a week ago). You'll notice lime green-ish strikes when hitting an enemy with Arrow Blaster.

I can't even remember if they've even acknowledged that yet or not.

For me, at least, them fixing AFA also caused blaster disconnects to skyrocket in frequency again. It was really bad when RED first came out, but then it got better a few weeks or so after. Now it's back to how bad it was at the start. Hope they're doing something about the disconnect aspects of it with this patch and not just the activation issues.

Also, as far as defense break still activating every few seconds, to me it seemed like it was proc'ing off of my phoenix attacking, and not the actual arrows hitting.

Nothing about it on the known issues. Stealth fix hopefully..

that was a quick turnover. I'm sort of confused.

the animation glitch was fixed a while back;

i mean CurseBite just refuses to activate. its known by the community, it was on a known list for a minute before disappearing forever. its been a problem since kaiser was released. in comparison to arrow blaster release, and one month it's fixed.

CurseBite: blah blah.... 100% chance to deal 200% extra damage 2 times against monsters with status ailments.
GigasWave: 100% to inflict Slow (from skill tip, not description)

everything hit with Gigas gets slowed, and then should then apply CurseBite to every following hit. it doesnt work so good.

IIRC curse bite only works on monsters inflicted with status ailments which don't affect bosses anyway. Since FA works on 1 monster even with mobbing skills, this seems like a very insignificant problem. In contrast, half or more of BM's damage while bossing comes from AB + AFA. The class is literally crippled without it.

I'm not saying the issue shouldn't be fixed, but complaining about it lacks perspective on the issue at hand.

Cursebyte does work, however it has a couple issues:
- The final attack hits have a relatively long delay before they even show up (You'll see the 2 lines show up if you use 2 Gigas Waves and then stop immediately; otherwise the next attack's lines will just cover those Cursebyte lines up)
- The skill will trigger only ONCE and then automatically remove the Slow effect from the monster you're hitting, rendering the long duration of the Slow effect (and the Hyper Skill to lengthen it) useless.

thought i ninja'd your post, except for the timestamp. not sure why you didnt read my other response;
cursebite does work on bosses; i understand how crippled bowmasters are/were; afa is a mechanic that almost every class has. i am referring to the speed in which a single problem is identified and corrected. how can you call a problem your own class is having "insignificant", especially when it is being addressed? it appears perspective lacking goes both ways.

since when do status ailments not affect bosses? are you sure we are playing the same game? bosses can be darkness, sealed, crashed, poisoned, slowed, and even 'frozen' (frozen status applied counters while not actually stopping movement).

Reddish; Slow effect is reapplied with subsequent attacks, but it seems like you're suggesting (similar to magic crash or bind cooldown) a boss cannot be slowed again until the initial effect wears off? Since CurseBite cancels nearly immediately, it wont reapply until its duration expires, until it is immediately reapplied. disappointingly ironic, since gigas wave, wing beat, and stone dragon all used for extended bossing, all give slow effect.

do you know if CurseBite also removes/effect-cancels other status like darkness? if i use a poison weapon, will CurseBite properly activate?

kayeyearekay; I haven't really checked with other status effects, so I'm not really sure if they trigger Cursebyte or not, or if Cursebyte causes them to be removed.
The weird thing about Cursebyte is that it takes a relatively long time to trigger, and it appears that Cursebyte will not trigger again until after the extra attacks register almost a whole second later. At that time, the extra attacks seem to remove the Slow effect from a monster, which requires another Gigas Wave to slap the effect on again for Cursebyte to trigger with the attack following it.
In other words, no matter how many attacks you're doing each second, Cursebyte will only trigger about once every 1.5 to 2 seconds rather than after almost every attack.
And Wingbeat does not cause the Slow effect. Only Gigas Wave and Stone Dragon do.

As for which other status effects are supposed to count, I think only those that trigger a Crusader/Hero's Chance Attack will count (i.e. frozen, darkness, and stun)

I don't think always, just when they're working on stuff like that.

That's not what I mean lmao.
Do they always shut down logging in during maintenance?
Cause I could swear I was able to go on the forums while the game was down last time.

I quoted the wrong person.

Website downtime during maintenance happens on occassion, it's not always.

Unless they change their coding such that I don't have to wait 2 seconds between each loot event/teleport/attack/pot cycle (it applies especially if you're changing between these actions), that change doesn't really help me.

If it does indeed change that way, let me know. Else I'm not touching this game for a while.
