Right, they could have...and everyone has a right to be annoyed when they do something stupid that's going to completely destroy unmonitored competitive play.

I wouldn't say that, competitive play really hasn't changed at all in that regard, in fact now that you can get the IV"s now hackers have no real advantage besides saving time. You can be annoyed all ya want about it, but trying to discuss possibilities of what they should have done will just make you more depressed

I'm pretty sure IVs and EVs are the only things PokeBank checks...

You can have whatever moves you want and whatever abilities you want on whatever Pokemon you want. That means that a hacker's Pokemon can be pretty much anything they want, legal or not. I'm pretty sure that's a huge imbalance in the competitive play.

I personally have never came across something like a wonderguard charizard or something along those lines, but we'll see

That would mean pokebank is a step down from previous hack-checks by nintendo.
Because previously they checked both IVs, EVs, moves and abilities. In BW2 you can NOT bring any pokémon that has illegal moves or abilities into online play because nintendo will detect it. So unless they downgraded their hack-check then they most definitely check both moves and abilities.

Hey, you got LoZ: Four Swords Adventure for free. FREE. While we got nothing.

Let us have this victory, if only for a day or two.

It was given out last year? if it was I didn't know about it. And my point still kinda stands since they only re released it in North America, rather than everywhere.

Anyway, Pokebank is up in Australia and New Zealand too.

Oh, sorry not last year, but on September 28, 2011. It was a worldwide free release.

Clearly Nintendo is at the whim of the giant spiders of Australia.

Wouldn't you do anything Australia asked if they threatened to send their wildlife after you? I know I would.
