Non-Legendary list: Arcanine, Sneasel/Weavile, Zangoose, Absol, Staraptor, Zoroark (I had to add in one more...)
Legendary list: Mew, Rayquaza, Palkia, Giratina Origin forme, Yveltal
- Raikou, the first legendary I absolutely adored. Even though the Gen II sprite looked funky, I still loved it.
- Staraptor, the first (and probably only, I have yet to play X/Y and haven't played with Fletchling/Talonflame yet) bird Pokemon that didn't disappoint me. Learning Close Combat right after evolving raised it above every other common bird, as well as its sweet design.
- Greninja, simply because of how amazing it's been in simulator play. I've grown to love its design, though.
- Blastoise, probably because I started with Pokemon Blue (Mega-Blastoise looks stupid though).
- Lugia, because of Pokemon Silver. I love the design, and Multiscale brought it a new level of usability and awesomeness in simulator play.
Top 5 pokemon
1:Latias
2:Ampharos
3:Breloom
4elcatty

Top 5 Pokemon merchandise
(if i could buy random items with pokemon on them i.e. Plushies/Special DS editions/etc... these are my top picks)
1:Latias
2ikachu
3:Ampharos
4:Buneary (plushies mostly)
5elcatty
Couldn't stop at 5 and leave out my fav eeveelutions! =3
Edit for reasoning
Reasoning? Well, Typhlosion was my main man, my first starter, the first badass pokemon I ever fully evolved. (For this same reason, Pidgeot also has a place somewhere on this list, esp since it has those cool eye markings)
I also loved its cry in its 16bit(?)glory

I always hear it say something like TehStroooooooonggggg when it does its cry. Maybe that's just me. Either way, the sound and animation is epic
Suicune because for one, it's blue, but second I liked how graceful it was, and how much you had to chase it around before you actually got it. Also I think it was my first legendary.
Blaziken because it was what I basically asked for in a pokemon, a fighting pokemon that looks sleek, but also looks like it can kick your ass in 2 seconds flat. The fact that it had a sort of fur vest made it even cooler. Also, BLAZE KICK TO THE FACE SON
Latios for basically the same reason as Suicune, it's blue, you had to chase it around, and Latios just so happens to be a dragon.
I remember everytime I saw latios I would get a mini heart attack because I finally found it againnnnnn aaaaaaaa
It carried me through battle towers/frontiers and all that, which is why it's number oneeee
Same with Shouri, I also saw Latios in the heroes movie, and I also love Latios' cry
Everytime I hear that cry after finding it randomly adds to the heart attack
Absol because of its place in pokemon mystery dungeon, you're on the run from your friends because they think you're the one who will bring the world to its end, and then absol shows up and helps you out. (I think that's what happens) I used it before it got a mega evo, and then when it got it I was like yussssssssssssssss. Was really mad when I had absol the whole game, then I got the mega stone after beating the game. I waited 80hrs(yes I took my time) for that damn stone, and I didn't even use the same absol anymore since it was time to make competitive teams. :<
Espeon because it was what my eevee randomly evolved into when I was playing crystal, and I thought its huge ears in that game the way it stood there to be really cool.
Glaceon because it reminds me of Espeon, and I like how it looks, and again, it's blue.
1. Togekiss is just overpowered as pomegranate. I loved having mine in Soul Silver.
2. Froslass looks great. I love Ice pogeys so ther ya go.
3. Absol has a great moveset and is Steel. Idk why but I also love Steel pogeys. I still feel like Steel is a new type ><.
4. Dragonair has been one of my favorites since day 1. I loved dragons as a kid and I hate how Dragonite looks.
5. Mightyena was my first pogey in Ruby. I have clocked well over 500 hours in Ruby and Mightyena has been with me the whole time. Needless to say, Return does a pomegranateload of damage on her.
I love these lists because of how different everyone's favorite is. So few doubles, I wish some of you would post reasons why you like the ones you do. I'm curious!

Tornadus T - This used to be my absolute favorite pokemon. It OHKO'd TTar, and 2HKO'd everything not named Jirachi. The ban last gen surprised me, though. Anyways, I'm going to miss spamming hurricane now that perma rain is gone T.T
Talonflame - Definitely my new favorite pokemon to use. Priority STAB Acrobatics and Brave Bird are amazing, even with his low attack stat. Mega Blastoise and the new Defog definitely help this guy alot.
Mega Blastoise - A spinner that can 1-2HKO any spin blocker and Ferrothorn.
Keldeo - Water is my favorite type, so a water type that can get past Chansey, Blissey, and Ferrothorn is pretty awesome to me. I'm curious about how the nerf to Hydro Pump, lack of perm rain, and Talonflame's existence will play out for Keldeo this gen.
Arcanine - It looks cool
Honorable mentions to Starmie, Kingdra, Azumarill, and Genesect.

Palkia
Meloetta
Lugia
Froslass
Sylveon
Gothitelle, Delphox, Weavile, Honchkrow, Florges, and most that have pink in their shiny forms.
Palkia and Meloetta make up my artist aliases Pink Palkia (traditional) and Mellow Meloetta (digital).
Lugia because of its shiny. Before Pink Palkia I called myself Pink Lugia.
Froslass because it's a female oni head wearing a furisode. With an obi tied into a bow!
Sylveon for the pink and the bows!
I love just about anything that looks really feminine and most Pokémon that have pink in their shiny colors.
1:Latias - Been my favorite since I first saw her in pokemon heroes. One of few pokemon cries I really like.
2:Ampharos - Jasmine+Ampharos episode did it for me. The attitudes in the episodes it has shown up in have been nice. The episode where it learns thunderpunch to gain the respect of the mareep is great. Then Amphy becomes Amphabulous which made him/her more glorious
3:Breloom - Always chose him to represent me in pokemon RPs. I always wanted a grass fighting type. Breloom did not disappoint. Something about his fighting style in the anime was nice too.
4elcatty - Because nyah~ Looks quite comfortable. Might make a great pillow
5:Leavanny - Ash's Leavanny was quite nice. Gates to Infinity helped too. Seems like an awesome motherly type while still a badass fighter.
1) Charmander - The starter I always picked in Red. The fact that I could get a Charmander early in Pokemon X/Y is the reason I preordered Y.
2) Alakazam - He's just so cool and rather intimidating.
3) Starmie - It's badass and fabulous rolled into one Pokemon.
4) Nidoking - I never use him, but I've always thought he looked really powerful. I'm not too sure if that's true in the games.
5) Galvantula - Despite not liking the majority of Gen V's Pokemon, this adorable spider won me over almost immediately.
