Also, wonder trades are about as one-sided as you'd expect, like 3 out of 5 times I've gotten some pomegranate pokemon available in the first route like a Caterpie (3 or 4 damn times now) or Bidoof. I've offered a Riolu, a Carbink, a Wobuffett, a Wingull, a Vivillion... clearly i'm doing this wrong.

The only one i did i offered a Bunnelby and got a Staravia back.

Whatever. You're in europe, you have plenty of regions you could change to to find a pattern you like.

Alright....is it just me or is Santalune Forest nearly identical (if not completely identical) to Viridian Forest? Including the rare Pikachu spawn if NPC dialog is anything to go off of.

Resetting over and over for a female Modest Fennekin...this is gonna take a while...

You might hate me...but I got a female Fennekin without even trying. Not Modest though.

Buffs you can cast on yourself or other people, stuff like "Attack lv 1" which increases the attack of your lead pokemon by one stage during your next battle. there are others like prize money, healing, critical ratio ect.

Started the game about an hour and a half ago. So much to do already ._. Picked Froakie as starter.
My first catch was a Jolly Bunnelby. I am okay with that.

Is it possible that we could start compiling a list of Pokemon found in every Route? I think it'd be very helpful for people looking for specific Pokemon but have no idea where to look and don't want to spend a lot of time fruitlessly searching since there isn't any kind of guide created yet.

You can use this as a reference for now if you like, after I get back from a gaming expo today I'll probably start writing up our own one. (unless someone else wants to start it and get the ball rolling, in which case be my guest)

Anyone else using an in-game team of only new Pokemon until post-game? That's my plan. It's what I usually do with each game. I go through the full main campaign with a team of new Pokemon introduced that Generation, then I work on an expansive competitive team.

The new EXP Share mechanics have made me love this game fully and completely the second I saw the text from the NPC that gives it to you.

Honestly, considering there seems to be Pokemon from every generation along with those rumors that you're supposed to be able to catch just about every Pokemon from all six generations in this game...I feel like that's deliberately limiting yourself when they finally went out of their way to open options exceptionally.

To be honest, I'm not so sure that those rumors were entirely true, UNLESS they meant that it was possible to get all Pokemon by means of mechanics like the Friend Safari and what not.

Even so, I just enjoy taking the new stuff for a joyride. Checking out new Pokemon, new attacks, new abilities, etc. Like I mentioned, after I beat the E4, I immediately start collecting all the Pokemans and also build a number of competitive teams consisting of Pokemon from all Gens.

I definitely can't blame you for your reasoning, so to each their own.

So far I've run into plenty of Pokemon over each generation, and the colored flowers thing seems to be true (In the first route with red and yellow seem to give me different encounters depending on which color I'm in), so I won't doubt at the very least a large selection of Pokemon in comparison to the other games. I know when I checked out the encounter locations of the rabbit thing (for an NPC trade, I forget its name already), it was only available on like 3 routes...which is very low considering it seems to be the new trash mob for Gen 6. They're usually everywhere. The fact that it's not further supports the possibility of a large selection of Pokemon.

So thankful I decided to EV train Special Attack first, made EV training speed so much easier when I 2-hit the Noibat balloon. 2 hours in and haven't done anything after getting my Froakie (Simon) because I've been obsessively super training him lol.

By "We sell only the best potions" I did not expect him to mean "We sell only the best potions." What a cruddy store.

I absolutely love this game so far.

The 3D is so nice looking.
The new animations are interesting to look at, so I probably won't even turn them off.
The EXP Share mechanics are great because now the entire team is much more balanced than before.
Super Training is definitely not so bad at the moment and seems like a good alternative to old EV training.
I haven't messed with Pokemon Aime too much.
Roller skating is much more fun than biking around.

However the only thing I'm left wondering is if I can trade my old pokemon without the use of Pokemon Bank. It would be nice, but it seems I can't find an option so I assume it's impossible. I've managed to get past the first gym and now I'm exploring around while ending my first day in the palace. It's great fun so far.

You can't. There will be a free trial when the bank launches for everyone to transfer to the gen, but you're pretty much fucked if you don't want to pay after that. Or,for that matter, if you want to transfer to any gens later, because they suggested that they're going to only be using pokemon bank to let people transfer for any gen changes from now on..
