Hes saying Giest actually requires some form of logic to it though, HT is only a challenege because of seduce, and the fact that it damages for so much. What if you had to fight a boss in a map olong the lines of the second Gryphon map, where you were challened to stay up, and if you fell, there'd be some sort of consequence. Or if the bosses quite literally required you to work together with other classes, they could utilize class specific skills, like Archmage ultimates, making them summon mobs that are only killable by a certain element. Or the shadower's smokescreen, they could have one ultimate attack with a really long animation that would give people time to prep, or perhaps they could do that but have a safe spot everyone would have to run to, I dont know.
Theres a lot of untapped potential in the game.

this is a sad fact, and an understatement. They have a lot of unique singularities but very little combinations of these singularities. It would be very interesting to see multiple things found from other boss fights combined into one medium length boss fight in which the pattern of things could change completely with each fight. I find it somewhat annoying that drops are randomized but fights are on a pretty strict line when it comes to most things.

Yeah, I don't know why everyone's so worked up about geist either. If you're not a magician, it's still just damaging a boss while using potions. Geist is almost always lured near the bottom of the map anyways, weapon/magic cancel or not, so usually, the teleporters aren't that helpful.
We need something like an open-field underwater boss with like 30k touch damage and an open pit at the bottom so you can't just stand on the floor. You'd have to swim around dodging it while still turning around to land in a few attacks.

Geist is moving around, teleporting, attacking, when you pin it, he does super def up to escape... you actually have to leave the ground to keep track of it. You can't really criticize it when you're way higher than it. That's like going into Ludi PQ in tespia and going "LOLZ WHY EVERYONE HATE ON ALISHAR HE SO EASY".
No, it's actually just annoying when it's fought with a platypus party. I've done it plenty of times. It's like, Hay guise, let's chase this monster around the map. LOL! It's still not interesting. It's just...boring. Its damage is pathetic, the map allows you to practically hide in the thorns all battle if you need and all he does is prolong the battle by telespamming or hiding in Super Def and flying away. Sweet muffins, GENIUS. You guys shouldn't boost Nexon America's ego with their crap boss. Bigfoot is the only decent one they've made, besides the fact it's way too easy to pin.

Yeah, there is. This game could easily make much better boss battles that actually require teamwork and/or focus. Like having to devote an attacker or entire party to activating different switches (or whatever) to allow the other members to be able to damage parts of the boss. Or like have a fast or hard-to-find monster appear that protects the main boss until it's killed. I dunno, add things into bosses that are creative, require planning and don't make the battle boring/annoying/draggy. Something that lets you still do something, instead of just having to sit there waiting for Super Def/pointless telespamming.

Horntail and probably Pink Been (can't say, since I haven't fought it) are the closest this game has ever got to interesting and challenging bosses. Maybe some of the new JMS ones, too, I haven't seen 'em all yet. Stop praising garbage like Geist just because it's different.

Edit: HECK YES @ Cyanne's underwater idea. See now that's the kind of crap we need.

I can't say that HH is the best one either, simply because it's another "Hay, i'm a hybrid ranged boss that can rape you in one hit but at the same time be raped in the corner by hurricane or TT!" kind of boss. Another anego/the boss isn't what this game needs. Of course i'm not even mentioning how godly his HP:exp ratio is and his toe, which makes it extremely worth it to kill. Other than that...of course the high level archer claims he's the best boss they've made.
I want this boss in a 120+ PQ (semi-confirmed apparently) where the PQ itself as well as the boss are equally revolutionary. New puzzles that don't rely heavily on combination locks, more "go into this room and fight a new "interesting" monster alone" stages, as well as requiring unused classes (paladin/shadower/MM/mage love? :[ ). Something like LPQ, except more dangerous and way more fun.
Edit: I second that underwater idea. Pineappleing good pomegranate right there.

Ok then give geist cake boss's hp and a KB of 50k and it will be a really hard boss despite its low attacks.

Combination locks aren't interesting, they just waste time. And kill X monster for passes is... old.
I'd like to see a LMPQ-type stage, where you actually have to kill the monsters before the portals are usable. And you're all sent to a different room and have to meet up.

LMPQ eh?
That's...uhm....fairly epic actually. At least for the first day, if the portals aren't randomized every PQ, everyone would split up looking for parts of the master key and there's a fatal monster waiting in certain rooms. At the end they would merge the master key through NPC and group up to fight the boss. Certainly challenging, new, exciting, and epic all at the same time. o.o

Crimsonwood Keep Siege PQ? thatd be interesting. Two different party sizes probably, each member sent to a different map upon entrance, separate tasks for each party member, and all finished with a boss fight. Now THAT would be an awesome PQ, especially if they can work class specific rooms and have a good exp rate for completing each room/the whole pq.

250-300k exp total per PQ, as well as some sort of amazing equipment reward so the PQ doesn't get ditched when the exp gets old.
Would 250-300k be good? O_o That's definitely over 10 PQs at level 120, but whether or not one could survive the boss at that level is another story.

A mobile boss with high touch that you have to stick in the corner until it dies. Very creative. At least Geist stands a chance to break free since it flies. All these monsters are doomed as soon as everyone gets on one side of them. Clearly, if so many people are saying they like it, there must be *something* to this idea. The only thing that makes Horntail/Pink bean seem interesting is that they have different parts doing different things. Admittedly Geist can be annoying, but often times when fighting the aforementioned mobile monsters I find myself zoning out because of how insanely boring it is. At least if you have to move around platforms you aren't going to completely zone out.
A lot of the things that are being brought up have happened in some ways, but people are suggesting they be combined in new ways. Dropping the chandelier on Ergoth, high HP summons that act as walls to slow the fight, Reactors a la Monster Carnival, etc. I would agree that a boss with aqua gravity would be interesting (You can see Bergamot has a mixed gravity system like Nautilus Harbor does), but I don't agree that there should be no platforms. Archers can't jump while they're attacking, so if there aren't any platforms we'll just sink. Having to swim back to the top every few seconds would be rather annoying. Instead, I'd suggest something like very small platforms to stand on, which the boss can easily knock you off of with a weak fullscreen attack. that way, there would be something we can shoot off of, but you couldn't have everyone piling onto those.

it depends on how long each pq would take, if one pq took about 20 (boss included) minutes each, and the boss ending up giving about 1 mil exp to each fighter, itd be awesome exp for a while. so itd be about 1.25 exp time 3 (for one hour) would be 3.75 mil exp an hour. if that PQ was around my lvl range of 111, id get about 30% an hour, whereas i get only about 10% an hour training at newties.

I've only been assuming it's 120+. Prose keeps hinting that this boss is supposed to be a challenge and that they're "not going to hold back". O_o I don't think "not holding back" means the boss would be catering to 11x. It'd be platypus HH all over again, and everyone would be severely disappointed. :[

I think we all already know that CWK Grandmasters will be something like a warrior, mage, archer and thief. And since Prose already mentioned the 3rd job advancement dark side fight, I bet it is just going to be like fighting them all together at once.
If I was the person in charge to create these stuff, I’d make something as simple as this
NightShadow's GM: Spam some sort of luckySeven skill while jumping all over the map. Uses Avenger and Drain to heal itself. I also would give it a new skill like “Super Avoidability Up” so you wouldn’t be able to hit it for certain times. Summon Nightshadows.
FireBrand GM: Teleports backward while using attack(claw/fireArrow) and misting the map, Can summon firebrands.
WindRaider GM: Push you back constantly using some sort of dragon breath skill to shot multiple arrows, also can stun. Summon WindRaiders.
StromBreaker GM: Uses Super Def. Up and Super Magic Def. Up at times. I'd give it one kind-of-panic attack that 1HKO you if you don’t watch carefully and avoid it in time. Summon StormBreakers.
IF i was the person in charge of CWK II I'd also make some things for the PQ like this. I'd make 5 rooms, four of them for each grandmaster, and the 5th room as the CW throne. After clearing all the puzzle stages and before fighting the grandmasters, you'd have split up into 4 teams, warriors, mages, archers, thieves. Each team goes into a room and fight their job's grandmaster, but before/after being defeated the GrandMaster retreats. After all 4 teams have defeated its respective grandmaster, you would have to go into the throne room and fight them all together. Each of the grandmasters would buff the others and stuff. Once you clear the last stage you go into the a bonus where Raven and Crimson Weapons can drop from boxes
I should work for nexon

most pqs have a lvl range where some people below the average lvl range are allowed in. Id think itd be nice if the lvl range was from 110 to like 130 or 135. Ive found that most PQs either stop at a job advance, or shortly after/before, and i think itd be good to have it pass through the 4th job advance lvl, that way most people can enjoy something PQ wise since the last PQ for most is PPQ (which is empty >_>)

Not really praising them there, bro. Just saying Bigfoot is better than their garbage Geist. In fact I even completely belittled all bosses besides HT in my previous post.
And "so many" people are saying they like it just because it's different than the other bosses. All the unique ideas incorporated in the Geist fight were horribly done. If anything, Geist is one of the sloppiest bosses ever. It frickin' runs AWAY from you. How platypus is that? And it's not like it flees to lure you into a trap or anything awesome like that. It simply runs cause it has ADD. Real bosses can man it up and push through your attacks.
Why do you have to change platforms? It's not hard at all to keep it on the bottom or wait for it to come back, even with a crappy leveled party. Like I said, every aspect of Geist that could be interesting was horribly put together. He teleports, that's neat. But he just does telespam, which only lets him get free attacks in. Wow, that's original. He Super Defs, awesome. He just uses it to run away. There's platforms all over that let you warp around, ... There's no point when it's just easier to keep him down or wait/send a lurer. I'm failing to see the "interesting" in this boss, when the only people he can kill are retards and people way too low leveled - which, shockingly, is just like any other boss that does craptastic damage.
---
The chandelier in Ergoth is so pointless. What's the difference? Less summons? Regardless, it's just as easy of fight with or without it. It's not required and hardly helpful. Another potentially good idea wasted. Summons of any boss mainly just get in the way for a second or two. They need to be like the balls of that magician boss in Golden Sun, where if you actually have to focus on them or it's bad news buster. But yeah, they're things that's been done quite commonly, it's just that MS botches most of the creative ideas.
Platforms would totally ruin a boss against a giant underwater boss. It needs to be like giant underwater bosses in other games: you against an aqua monster in its native environment, pure and simple. Character VS giant water beast in a vast tank/ocean like setting. It would make the battle much more intense and real. Bowman can shoot and jump underwater just fine, I dunno what you're talking about. Hurricane makes it especially easy. You'd only sink if you insist on spamming your skills, which would be retarded. Go back to the good ol' days of Aqua training which allowed you constantly jump, attack, jump, attack, etc.

Well, even if they couldn't BStep, but I'm sure Shadowers would manage just fine. They still have attacks they can use. And there is never more than 1-2 Shadowers, at most, in a boss battle. They're not very helpful in the damaging sector, anyways. They're more helpful for other things.

I don't want another boss where ppl is demanding for damage but rather for strategy.
