Good question. But even when Shinsoo leaves Ereve and Empress Cygnus, you still see her in the same position when you meet her in a different map.

In Maple World there are three Transcendents that keeps the world in balance. The Transcendent of Light (Black Mage), Transcendent of Life (Alicia/World Tree) and the Transcendent of Time (Rhinne).
One of Shinsoo's duties is to watch over the birth of the fourth Transcendent in Maple World and to protect it. The fourth Transcendent is supposed to be a descendant of Cygnus.
But because of the awakening of Cygnus which was incomplete, she obtained some powers that normally only a Transcendent can possess. Cygnus is a half Transcendent now. She doesn't have the power yet to be a fully Transcendent. Shinsoo doesn't know if Cygnus is the fourth Transcendent or if Cygnus will lead to the fourth Transcendent. That is why Shinsoo left Ereve to find answers for Cygnus' safety.

Does the storyline tell anything about the new-found power are come from Alice?

Sorry,, I don't know how to mention someone in a post yet. I got a few questions, first of all, why was Shinsoo dying to begin with?

Second, hasn't the main problem for Cygnus always been the fact she couildn't fully absorb the powers of Shinsoo (dragon)? To the point that it almost cost her her throne when Hilla came back?. I don't get why now that she seems to have started to absorb them she now is not supposed to.

What role does Alice play in all of this ?

Doesn't the word Shinsoo and the word Water have almost the same letters or same way of writting it in Korean? I believe I heard that from a translation note while reading Tower of God. They use the world Shinsoo aswell to refer to the energy in the atmosphere within the tower. That would explain the "water shield" confusion breeding in this thread.

Didn't Spadow post pictures of the new Cygnus storyline? I think after level 120 or something.

Cygnus starts seeing "Dark Cygnus" when she looks into mirrors, and the empress breaks out of the dream world through a mirror into the real Maple World.
It's probably something to do with how Cygnus can't control her powers and is worried about becoming the Empress seen in the door to the future

Oh wow.. are you saying that.. Dark Cygnus is going to break out of the dream world into the real one? That's.. crazy. I had hoped that once defeated, she wouldn't have been a problem anymore. Guess we might have some hints about what the next Door to the Future expansion is about.

oh gosh, if cygnus becomes a transcendent..
and about corrupted empress in the mirror, it's quite plausible that shinsoo alerted her about what is happening in the crack of dimensions/the "future". it could be why she sees the exact same one we all did. either that or arkarium is being a papaya again.

Isn't that impossible? I thought Freud and Afrien cast a spell that you couldnt go back any further in time from when the Black Mage was sealed away, and since Demon Slayer's betrayal was before the seal, it would be quite impossible to do that. (it was somewhere mentioned in the silent crusade storyline)

Where has the idea of Water Based cygnus knights come from? because of a water barrier in the video? that means nothing. Mercedes has a water barrier, in a lot of games and stuff, water is considered to be healing or defensive.

Thunder breakers are water based because:
A) They are pirates
