Nexon's taking action against Hard Mode Magnus Hackers
#21
Oh, so that Tyrant I've been seeing probably isn't legit.

Not surprised. Wink

Were the generated ones ever completely cleaned up? Pretty sure w/ this ban most of the items should be gone besides for the ones people bought.

Not sure why anyone would spend 150-200.00 for a clean piece of gear. Even if they're Tyrant that's ridiculous - still have to cube and scroll it. These hackers were asking for way too much.

Which is still a funded range; although really, hackers don't lack for sources of income.

OK the ppl who hacked magnus in hard mode got perm banned...... but here the remaining question

1. What will happen to tyrant gear and other nova gear wear sold and trade
2. Can you get banned for having tyrant gear / nova gear
3. Will Nexon delete them just like b4?

People are claiming all magnus runs are recorded (as in a video gets submitted to Nexon after a kill)? That's pretty cool if true, but it is basil.

I would like to know this too. Is this perma transform really considered a glitch? Was it planned like this? Before anyone says anything, Nexon changed Kaiser. What if they thought being level 200 kaiser should enter transform whenever.

Tyler said that at Nexon forums.

It states in the game that it has a cooldown, the variable for its cooldown still exists within the data, and the patch notes mention the cooldown. Until Nexon comes out and says it's not, which I doubt, I'd consider it a glitch. That being said, it's sooooo hard not to use it because I love being in Final Form, which is why I'm not playing my Kaiser until it's fixed =[

I guess that's a good point. Who knows though. Is it really considered a banable offense though?

There is no video. After a kill the server records that the characters inside killed Magnus/HardMagnus, with a timestamp. The message also pops up in the player's chatbox.

At this point, it's really not a matter of "who knows", it's most definitely a glitch.

Probably not. I've heard there's an infinite transform hack, though, and I definitely don't want to get caught up in that.

Couldn't the database see that a skill was used though? Other then a skill not being used?

Well the skill says it has a 300sec cooldown, so I'm going to assume it's just a glitch.

I'm very ecstatic that they're doing something about these hackers, but, I feel like celebration is premature, I mean, they could come back, or someone new could replace them. They were banned for hacking Hard Mode Magnus specifically, right? So as long as they don't do that anymore, they could hack the rest of the game to bits =[

I do have quite a bit of faith in Nexon right now, though.

*shrugs* Dunno how it works, I kinda doubt they'd track that, though, I mean, there's a couple thousand of players doing things all the time, it seems really unrealistic.

I assume that's just hackers using the level 200 hyper skill. I heard some nonsense about hackers accessing hyper skills before they were actually released but were still in the game data.

I think there's a lot of overlaps between the groups, at least, from what I've seen, many of the Magnus hackers were also CPB hackers, probably Empress hackers as well, which, I think is why they got banned.
