MapleStory Timelines
#21
Abbeh Wrote:Eh.... Stuff on the GMS website seems to go back to October 2005. (About 6 months worth of updates are missing, but judging by the content I've looked through... not much happened during that time.)
10.18.2005 Cash shop.
11.16.2005 Introduction of PIN system.
12.19.2005 3rd jobs, Windia
1.22.2006 Guild system, Lv80-100 items
2.09.2006 Tax system (which was apparently not mentioned anywhere in the patch notes... Sneaky Nexon.)
2.16.2006 Khaini? (This must have just been an image and they've since deleted it...)
3.02.2006 Ludibrium
I sadly find this kind of thing really entertaining and wouldn't mind digging through all of the old posts on Nexon's site to pull out all of the important updates. When there's a set format for contributions I'll dig through more of it and post it properly. x3

This is really great! Keep it up, exactly like that.

Sarah Wrote:This is awesome. It seems like it's missing some stuff, though. Also, thanks Shidoshi. But please don't PM me regarding this. There's a subforum down at the bottom of the maple-related forums.

Sorry, I didn't if the forum was open already since there were only posts by Eos at the time and there was no instruction on how to send things in in this thread.

Eos Wrote:That would depend entirely on people being willing to fill them out and support / contribute to them.

Just remember we're looking for this to be a timeline of important events and changes (changes to the UI, additions of worlds, new classes, new areas, beta beginning/ending, europeans being kicked out and welcomed back), not every time they released a gachabox and 2x, that's what the other calendar is for.

What? They blocked european ip forever, only people with accounts made the patch before new leaf city could stay.

Hey, this is a real neat feature!

Eos Wrote:Similar, but a little less detailed really. More the broad strokes of important stuff. Not necessarily every fluff update, but a list of key changes and milestones.

All right, then,

For example, for today, I just put "Justice Update Part 2 : The release of Phantom?"

"Forever" hasn't happened yet, now has it?
When EMS dies like the other regional failures you'll be unblocked again and they'll post another sad little welcome back, just like with mabi-eu.

More or less. Check what Sarah's doing with the GMS version. Feel free to work with her to keep some sense of consistency. Refer to the Content Tester forum for an example of end results to give you an idea. You want the important parts visible, so does anyone give a damn that it was part of Justice or do they just care that Phantom was released? In a year from now which one will actually mean something to someone looking for the event?

Timeline subforum updated with EMS and MapleSEA. We need caretakers for those, anyone familiar with events in those versions feel free to volunteer. If we have any takers for versions not yet listed drop me a VM.

So you think that mabi have ever been successful? Maple is the main source of income for nexoneu (Im pretty sure the same goes for nexonUS) and I do not believe that this game will be closed for another 4 to 6 years. Its one of the youngest maple versions but also a very up-to-date one compared to other versions like jms, gms & msea. Legend patch begins 4th june and from my understanding nexoneu would go out of buisness if maple was closed.

No, I think you're an idiot who's reading too much into a figurative example and trying to defend a point no one gives a damn about in the first place.
Everything ends. Especially MMOs. Whether it's today, tomorrow, two years or six, every last maple will blink off the face of the earth at some point. You can't say anything will last forever when forever hasn't happened yet. Defending your choice of words serves no purpose. Move on.

Alright, the timeline system is in. The link for it can be see on our navbar next to the normal Calendars, or can be reached via - http://www.southperry.net/timeline.php

Only calendars that have been actively started will show up as options (JMS and GMS, with JMS being quite empty still).
The calendars that underly the timelines can always be accessed in normal calendar mode for any one more comfortable browsing that way.

The other calendars need editors and contributors so if you're interested hop on over to the forum and pitch in.

Do we really need to label the different anniversaries?

Also, Iunno, but it'd be neat to have a Southperry timeline.
