Setting it to low priority helps me with the lag.

Going to try this right now. Thank you.

It's caused me or my roommate to crash on every zakum room we've attempted since the last mini-patch.

I know it's blackcipher because it shoots up to 99% cpu usage in task manager whenever my computer freezes.

This this this.
BlackCipher crashing = 100% CPU usage for me.

I'm not talking about all the time, at specific times/scenarios the process use up to 99% of the cpu which seems like a bad coding problem.

I haven't seen it spike up in CPU usage at all. Memory leaks are really stupid anyway.. considering a lot of programs have garbage collection and the manual ones such as C++ require a simple delete keyword to deallocate memory usage.

I hadn't experienced any problems with it until last minipatch. Since then, it's randomly spiked up to 100% CPU usage (on a quad core too, wtp) resulting in Maple freezing and bringing my entire computer to its knees. I end up having to kill both it and Maple.

Well, it's official. BlackCipher has officially stopped me from PvPing.
I can't even get through ONE 10min PvP match without the pineappleing program crashing 6-7min into.

I'm not even touching the goddamn thing either.

Reasons to play Maple are rapidly dwindling...

Yeah, tried to do Von Leon and crashed 19 minutes in.

MS had just crashed the minute before while I was finishing the Expedition, so it was run game -> log on -> enter VL -> crash.

My other computer is unplayably laggy cause MS+BlackCipher+'kmixer.sys' (hidden as System in task manager) hit 100% CPU every couple seconds, but it didn't crash at the same time.

Unfortunately after a few minutes Process Explorer triggers Hackshield so it's not easy to poke around.

kmixer.sys is the audio manager, has anyone tried that old trick of turning off sound in the system to prevent disconnects?

Von Leon Crashing 20min in has been around since way before Black Cipher though.

Apparently the trick to it is to kill him in the corners and not the middle. And disabling my sound drivers does seem to help somewhat.

I do, and it still works for me in HT and PB. I can VL without having to disable, but the former two crash me if I have my drivers active.

Yeah, that worked before this patch, but today's run, even staying in the corner, failed. (not sure why that message in particular pops up when MS disconnects)

Just went on a CHT run we do semi-weekly. 13 men entered the cave, only 3 were around to see death. Has to be a blackcypher issue cause they never had these issues before >Sad

To add on to this.
6 people DC'd from the BlackCipher error.

They all got the Cipher error, then Maple crashed on them moments later.
None of them touched the blasted thing as far as I know. Hurt

It was just the server though, 11 of us lived.

Anyway, I haven't had problems yet.

Keep dcing from Black Cipher raising my CPU usage to 100%.

Can't even play, let alone log in.

Black Cipher is the most fucking awful thing to be added to this game... everyone has to suffer... and to put more insult to injury, it barely achieves its intended purpose.

The funny thing is BT has a disable for black cipher so hackers don't even have this problem.
