I'm pretty sure that the floating applies in midair. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just meant to point out the same thing you were. You have to activate it on the ground no matter what. You just said cannon jump, which was kinda confusing.

Oh, ok then. Anyway, yeah, the new wings isn't as good as Cannon Jump, unless it can go higher normally.

It really just depends on the map. There are quite a few times when cannon jump is a total flop and you waste a relatively significant portion of time trying to actually grab the rope. Usually only when the platforms are really tall and there's only 1 rope to grab. With wings you actually have the option of moving left or right once you're in the air. Both skills have different advantages, wings just gives you more control over the speed you gain if you know exactly how to cannon jump every single time.

The bold highly intrigues me. Is it really on demand now? I thought we gotta build up energy as usual to get dat stance. Also, is Russelen's (sp?) Potion cheap/craftable?

Yeah, I agree. In CWKPQ, on my cannoneer, I use cannon jump to get to the top in the totem stage(sometimes I do the sigil before the warrior does). The thing is, with wings, I'll be able to jump up, but not as high, so I won't be able to finish as fast as my cannoneer. It will be pretty useful on certain maps though. It's a great alternative to rope climbing, especially if you have a familiar out (no risk of dcing from the familiar + rope glitch).

Dash gives 100% stance. Keybind it, activate, don't move/use a skill, and you've got 100% stance for as long as dash lasts.

Russellon's potions are free. You just have to get them one at a time. The speed at which you get a hundred stack depends on how fast you can get to storage. With the 6k instant storage CS thing, it should only take a few minutes to get a stack. They're tradeable, though, so if enough people capitalize on the boost, we might see russellon potion sellers in the FM post-revamp. Should be a lot easier for that to happen now that there's literally no risk to using them thanks to willow defense.

Poisons your character with a 50 damage tick for 5 minutes. Constant pirate's revenge for 5 minutes.

Oh! I forgot Dash gets that. Swag!

Also, that seems pretty interesting. Will definitely check back Maple when Pirate Revamp rolls around to see how the new changes all play out.

There's several types of Rusellon's Potion, some act like Power Elixirs while other seal/weaken you or grant you darkness effect.

Yes, it's Killmeplsok 's video.

Also, the one problem with the new wings is that the cannon jump can't be used in midair, so you lose out on a LOT of height that way.
This video was a total failure though.

The guy in the video had no control, but even still I'm very interested in the new Captain.
Rapid fire is good enough for bossing, fuselage is good enough for mobs you can OHKO.

No s'hit. This is a specific item that poisons you.

85% Total, actually. You forget the base 15% Mastery.

It'd be 90%, Melee classes have 20% base mastery.

IllegallySane Wrote:Baklava So can we get a recap on Vipers well-being, if you may?
I'll add on to what steve hasn't said or has (possibly) said incorrectly.
Takebacker Wrote:Copying same style baklava used.

Buccaneers and what you gain:
Mobility -
1) Increased speed and jump cap, 160 movement speed vs previous 140, 132 (?) jump vs 123. (not entirely sure if maximum jump is increased or if it's just +10 jump, description is misleading)
2) Basically can reach speed cap on demand.
3) Significantly faster movement speed when monsters are available through spiral/d.spiral, compared to spiral/jump blast technique now.

Otherwise no real movement benefits.

Invincibility -
1) Somersault kick provides roughly 6.6/10ths of a second of invincibility frames, not entirely sure if it's the full faster (2) cast time that provides iframes or if it's the extremely short window between casts this is perfect invincibility frames if you spam the SSK only.
2) Constant invincibility through spiral/d.spiral. Possible iframe infinite when a monster is cornered through the use of spiral/ssk, useful for stalling tactics in pot cooldown with small dps against mobs that do not damage reflect. Needs more testing. not true

Increased damage -
1) Increased critical rate; 40% base with Critical Roar and critical rage, 55% with Lucky Dice 4, 60% against bosses, 75% against bosses with dice 4.
2) Increased critical damage; +20% minimum critical damage. All crits do 1.5x damage. Critical damage becomes way more effective when bossing compared to literally every other class, so try and get it on your gloves and bind decSE while you can. You forgot the +15% maximum critical damage. 1.5x maxcrit goes to 1.65x.
3) Increased single target damage; 250% per hit at ~11 hits per second.
4) Increased mob damage: 550% per hit at 4 hits per mob (10 mobs) and 700% per hit at 2 hits per mob (6 mobs)
5) Increased attack buffs; Mental clarity (+30), Energy charge (+30), Viperisation(+15%).
6) Increased mastery; 90% mastery total.
7)Increased effectiveness against high PDR; Guard crush, 40% chance to ignore 100% PDR.
8) Can still use russellon's potions for constant pirate's revenge. (+15% damage)

Great Durability Increases -
1) 30% status resistance and elemental resistance
2) Willow defense, 20% reduction in all damage including 1/1. Taking 1/1 with russellon potion active will no longer OHKO you. (THIS IS HUGE)
3) 100% stance on demand. If you're using dash for stance then you're being a retard. You do, however, get 90% stance still with energy; energy is FAR MORE FREQUENTLY ACTIVATED, esPECIALLY on bosses.

Attack speed -
Fist enrage is at least 3x as fast as demolition and barrage I'd say 4x as fast as demo and 3x as fast as barrage, but that's just being critical.

Buccaneers and what you lose:

Range -
Fist enrage's range is roughly 3x shorter than demolition. It's pitiful.

Attack speed -
Energy laser is much slower than dragon strike. But it's so much stronger so who gives a f'uck.

Graceful play style -
New buccs demand a more creative player, so you use your skills to stay on the target's hitbox and predict when to use SSK efficiently. (assuming you care)

Ultimates -
I guess that's a skill you could have had that would actually be useful. Not when you max it last. It's far better to simply use DS/energy blast.

Buffs -
You have more of them. Dispel becomes more annoying. (regardless of it previously taking away transform benefits) Dear god this is the most annoying thing about being a viper ever. Dispel distracts you from at least TEN SECONDS worth of attacking, assuming you have MW.

Benefits -
Critical rage makes critical rate bonuses extremely more insignificant than it already was when bossing, and guard crush makes PDR ignore from potential and codex insignificant.

F'ucking quotes.

Quote:If you're using dash for stance then you're being a retard. You do, however, get 90% stance still with energy; energy is FAR MORE FREQUENTLY ACTIVATED, esPECIALLY on bosses.

You also can't use any attacks. What's the point of stance when you aren't attacking?

Waiting out damage reflect or weapon cancel and not wanting to move. Top of horntail mostly. It has uses, so no point berating me for pointing it out.

Should have mentioned energy is active more, stupid of me to think it was obvious.

Quote:Not when you max it last. It's far better to simply use DS/energy blast.

Talk about being critical. This point was completely neutral.

Quote:Contrary to popular belief, def =/= PDR. You have 40% chance to ignore 100% DEF.

PDR is synonymous with defense because it is a percentage cut in damage. Physical resistance that empress, hilla, PB have is not PDR.

Yeah yeah danny just told me. I thought they were different because of me doing pineapple-all damage to hilla. My bad.

I'd say a decently timed dash-stance would save you the trouble of being knocked off a platform or super knockbacked right? If you know the animations, then you can predict when you need to use dash to avoid the knockback and then proceed to attack right after while everyone else who doesn't have stance gets back to position.

Well I think it's just worthless when it's only the difference between 90% stance and 100% stance.
