Nexon Hates Reg./Low LUK.

WillDaSnail Wrote:@ Atruya, I somewhat feel the same way as you.

I started around Maple 1st Anniversary, when the first maple weapons were released. At that time, the concept of LUKless was new and I knew a bit about it - however, it was in the minority, so it wasn't popular

Time passes, it gets more popular. Level 64 maple weapons released 2 years later, gives LUKless the major boost. Then the final blow came with elemental weapons months later (level 130 ones especially).

Serioiusly, Im considered a "high-LUK mage" now (yes, even my own MS friends poke fun at me for it now), not a normal since I have 89 base (total of 114 with equips). If this bull continues, I (and other older normal-LUK mages that are not planning to reset AP/restart) will might as well be extinct in just coming months. I literally had no way to get a zhelm (remember 2-3 hour Zakum runs?) and my original plan was to cap at 89 for level 90 equips and Magicodar. But those plans were literally destroyed overnight in the new updates we got this year.

I'll bet some LUK mages were thinking about this: "Where the bloody hell is my dignity now?"

This.
Why did I quit my original F/P, the one that I happened to use Will and Elu as my inspiration for, when he was so far (only char I had gotten to level 70 until my shadower, a year later)?
Because The stupid lukless' got so freakin powerful that I was shunned for being normal luk.
When I was first making him, I had the EXACT same thing as will did.
Luk was the only build really. Lukless was about as rare as pure poison second job mages.
Then they got suddenly popular and I had to quit because of all the making fun of.

Thanks a lot, nexon, for ruining my first real maplestory character.

It's 103 and 163 for the Staves, which require 105 and 165 luck in return for a Fast attack speed and an mattack of upwards 195.

I'm quite enjoying my 163 staf and have used it for almost 35 levels now.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

*sigh*... So true, Will, so true... I mean hell, I'm a Normal-Dex thief from Beta, although I'm starting to lean towards using high level gear that gives some dex.

I just find it ridiculous how Maple Shine Wands and Maple Wisdom Staff easily outdo their luk-required counterparts, Angel Wings and Evil Wings, damage-wise (neglecting Evil Wings' Fast speed >_>). I mean, if you take out all the luk required for Angel/Evil Wings and add them to Int and use the Maple Weapons... :| (Oh hey, I just noticed that the wand's Angel and the staff's Evil. o-o) As well as improving the weapon arsenal, I think that they need to change the magic formula to something better suited.

Sorry for any lack of argument or mistake; I have almost no experience with magicians.

Nexons definition of a LUK mage is a mage who doesnt cap LUK.. meaning adding it till 203 LUK. Thats why high leveld weapons and armors have high luk requirement and those LUK mages think its unfair.

Just curious (this is totally offtopic), what your base luk is to wear the 163. My friend got me one, and I don't have enough as of now to wear it, but I'm looking into buying a luk shield or just putting some points into luk as I level.

I'm curious, too... I was about to PM you. O_o

On-topic: My theory is that Nexon is going to every-so-often make Low-LUK stronger again (like when DDs first came out) just long enough for more people to make them, then release some new 100 MATK common glove or something. =P I'm not sure how they can make something more pineappleing broken than 130 Elemental Wands, but I'm sure they'll figure it out.

110+60. I could lower it a bit more but I prefer to have that 5 points of wiggle room for equipment malfunctions and misadventures.
