If you still don't get it (most likely my fault for being bad with words) go here: http://nxcache.nexon.net/maplestory/legends/index.html right click on the bg and choose to see the bg image.

More than likely put there as a placeholder, for a point of reference to align the actual embedded trailer. I mean, another way of looking at it could be design-related in that it's to disguise any lag there may be in the embed loading.

They left or put that image of a video there so they could get the position of the youtube video right. It's hidden behind the video, so care to explain what's so important here?
