MTS Update Coming Next Week

Greetings Maplers,

To improve privacy for our players, we will be changing how the MTS stores player information to obfuscate account IDs in an update which is currently scheduled for next Wednesday, September 7. As a precaution, we are keeping the MTS offline until after the update goes live. We are very sorry that this information existed through the MTS, and we want to thank our community for your patience while we worked toward addressing this issue.

While other information needed to access an account such as passwords or PICs were not exposed, we strongly encourage everyone to regularly update your password and PIC as an added security measure. You can change your account information in the Account Settings page.

Again, we apologize for the stress this has caused our players. Thank you for sticking by us while we make the necessary changes.

Yeah, and if you get hacked, now that we've put in this security measure of shutting down the MTS, it's all your fault for not making your password and pic secure enough.

I find it ironic that the last two times I bought NX with real money some pomegranate like this happens. Last time my marksman got deleted, now this?

In all honesty, I don't think that's too far off for GMS, since Nexon Japan updated the MTS a few months ago in JMS to include Potential and Enhanced items.

Right now, though, I wouldn't expect that any time soon.

I honestly expect everything I have in there to be lost.
On the bright side, now I can sell nx for more.

There's a list on basil with people's IGNs that had their user IDs leaked via the MTS.
