Sure it is, when no one else would dare do it. It may be tacky, heck it's very tacky, but I still respect their audacity. You can still respect a group's right to fight even when it is irrational or tacky. Case in point, the American Tea Party movement. I for one, could personally give a flying horse excrement about what they preach, because what they say is absurd. However, I do respect their right to fight. The word "respect" gets thrown around way too much. I don't like it. You can acknowledge the Tea Party and their rights, but you definitely don't have to respect them.

Just because they are advertising in a different way doesn't make it courageous. Bold? Fine. Ham fisted? Yeah. Courageous? No.

You must have misread my earlier statement, for my question was not irrelevant. It was there to prove my point. It was not related to what PETA is doing. If you had an unyielding belief that you wanted to fight for, let's face it, you wouldn't even consider doing something that crosses into the field of "he/she/they did WHAT?" for fears of whatever backlash might come from the general public. Don't worry though, it's not just you; Most people say they support an issue or stance strongly, yet rarely are they truly willing to stand up for what they believe in. PETA is fearless.

Fearlessness is not courage. Recklessness is not courage. Shamelessness is not courage. There are reasons these feelings exist. Stop being naive.

This thread got over 25 replies in 4 hours, you can't say it didn't get anyone talking. I'm not saying it'll necessarily result in lower meat consumption, but it will get them publicity.

Ah PETA, what is there to say? Firstly, their demographic is way off. Secondly, toeing the line with partial nudity that reaches the general population is far more effective at getting people talking than secluding their message behind straight up pornography that almost exclusively males are going to head over there to beat off to.
