Locked Wrote::|No pomegranate. Do you have Q2 numbers? No, you sure don't. Therefore, the only thing we can look at is previous growth. My point is that Nexon has been pomegranate for ages and they've been reporting revenue increases of 40% and upwards for the past several years. The last few months are hardly enough to warrant declarations that the sky is falling. The last few months are hardly enough to kill their profit margin.

Viaje Wrote:Yeah... ........ Guess I was wrong. What bothers me more is that now there are just two possibilities: 1. They are having serious issues with their staff or other things there or 2. They actually started not caring at all The second option is that which the most people would choose, and.. I, too, am starting to think it MIGHT be the right one.. ![]() There's also a slight possiblity they have lost a lot of money in the Q2, because of, who knows, unpredicted high expenses they had to incur? Stuff like that happens to big companies, and if you add to that the several people quitting of frustration, they might have not been able to make up for the loss. I just want to hope it's not actual carelessness.

What's the problem with the trailer it's just showing the only part of that update worth making a video about, and they already used the animated cartoon footage in one of the first trailers for chaos would be redundant to use it more than once.
Kind of like that they show gameplay with one of the best bgms in the game playing it's honest and not horribly flashy..

They didn't have any animated footage because they already used the PvP footage in the Chaos Trailer.

Are gonna realize that heroes have the most advantages and the fact that Intrepid Slash seems more spammable then any warrior skill in PVP. With that combo with rush and magnet..prepare to get owned fast : x Tespia was like that. So I assume the real thing maybe too. ![]() (Then again DB's in tespia didnt have 4th job skills. I dont know if that makes a difference.)

Okay, can't we just all agree that whether Maple is bringing in lots of money, or next to none, that Nexon sure as hell reinvests as LITTLE of it as possible to maintain the game?

Combattente Wrote:Guess I was wrong. What bothers me more is that now there are just two possibilitiesNo, there aren't. You really need to try to include other people in the realities you're creating with your mind. We don't need to hear "the sky is falling" in every single thread. You should probably pull yourself out too. Just breathe and accept the fact that you don't know pomegranate about what's happening within the company and that your speculation is not grounded. You have no reason to believe people are quitting. You have no reason to believe there are staff issues. You have no reason to believe they had some ridiculously pricey expense that was totally unforeseen. You're just making pomegranate up so your mind can rationalize the rash of exploits. Seanny Wrote:Okay, can't we just all agree that whether Maple is bringing in lots of money, or next to none, that Nexon sure as hell reinvests as LITTLE of it as possible to maintain the game?I will never disagree with this. Nexon America needs to hire some (more?) in-house developers.

Totally not going to even do interested in age of battle. I have no interest in broken pvp.

Viaje Wrote:No, there aren't. There is no rule here which says that people should not speculate about stuff, therefore I'm free to do it whenever and however I please. Since I can't think of other reasons why the game is in this situation, and since Nexon apparently doesn't acknowledge it and explain what's going on there, all which is left to do is speculating about what could've happened. It doesn't really hurt anyone to do it, so I don't see what's wrong with it. Also, I worded my other post wrong. It sounded like I stated as a fact that there were only two possibilities left, but that obviously is just more speculating, and I'm open to other people's thoughts about the matter, too. The reason of my speculating mainly is not wanting to believe that they actually don't give a pomegranate. So I try to find out what else could it be. Whatever the reason of this situation is, I just hope it's not that. Seanny Wrote:Okay, can't we just all agree that whether Maple is bringing in lots of money, or next to none, that Nexon sure as hell reinvests as LITTLE of it as possible to maintain the game? That's true, yeah. I heard they underpay their developers a lot, and that's probably why some of their best ones such as NxProse left for better job proposals, even after planning big things for the game such as a completely new continent (I'm obviously talking about Masteria). That, or he just found the new job proposal much better than his current one. But this is just more speculating.

I recall seeing a thread once on SP (can't find it for the life of me though) where it showed staff positions in developer work, GM's, website maintenance, etc. All of which yielded US minimum wage (slightly a bit more for GMs funnily enough). So seriously, why work for Nexon and exhaust your talents when a burger flipper at the local fast food restaurant nets the same pay as you?

Then I guess we now know almost certainly why Prose left. His works were probably highly underrated by Nexon, and he found that, even if he'd have liked to continue the Masteria project himself, nearly any other game company would've paid him much better. Eventually, he ended up working for Square Enix, which isn't a bad company at all.

Then again that's a lot of U.S. jobs now. growing excessively thin on wages/payroll while putting even more work on those willing to stay. No surprise Nexon is the same. |
