It's not that big of a deal, but it is unfair. All they have to do is get to Level 10, job advance, accept the Chaos Warrior Challenge quest, and then send the packet for the appropriate class to end the quest and get the item. For explorers it only gives them the Cruel Ring, they don't get to choose between the three. Apparently they've come out with the packet that lets them choose between the three now. Fantastic.
Kinda tempted to do but I don't want to risk a ban, so I'll work my way up on the characters to get what I want instead.

This.
You know what has become sad? To know that after every patch there will be delays, bugs, exploits, hacks and there is no freaking solution to it
The fact that everyone knows the PvP exchange NPC will be exploited, that haxers will r@pe the sheet out of it and get away, breaking the game's economy way more than it already is and it can't be stopped...
Actually, Basilers just discovered the Potential Stats stuff in the Modules, especially the Potential Weight part. There were like 200 people in there about ten minutes ago.
That and the fact that Maple is basically screwed over for a large bit of the community and we don't have anything to do but creeper in the forums of Maple.

I had that same idea posted on the Nexon Forums, but I doubt they read it.
DAT POST I POSTED.
Tespia Server: Whats the point of this? The Tespia server should be used to its fullest extent, challenge users to create hacks, patch it before it gets into the live server while getting an awesome game reward that expires (so they get tempted to do it again in the next Tespian update)
Hack Prevention Software: Hackshield and Gameguard are no good, moreso to Hackshield since thats when most of economy/game breaking hacks came in. No matter the cost, implement a much more private, yet powerful hacking prevention software (if its crazily expensive, don't worry Nexon; it should pay off with the money you are making and just use it for the games that are hacker infested (CA/Maple).
HPT: Get a team which focuses on patching hacks for MapleStory (Hack Prevention Team); every hack they find (or at least the most game breaking hacks) on public sites, get them to break inside the hack and find how they do it and they should patch it (also make a VIP Account on those hacking sites to prevent them from spreading to other users who didn't already do the hacks), make sure they spend most of their times on the forums to quickly extinguish hacks, and if there are no game breaking hacks out, then tell them to work on the other hacks.
Client: Fix your client! Pretty sure you heard of this before, but if you most of everything client sided, there are bound to be hacks everywhere! The images and whatnot should be in the client, how things get handled/what they spit out should be handed server sided. This should also minimize the huge memory consumption MapleStory takes.
Add checks: Remember the Coin Exploit/Pitch Exploit? Make the server check if something suspicious is going on (Arrow for a Maple Item?/All monsters going close to player), send a message to online GMs and tell them to check or just autoban them all together.
Autoban: Why are private server's autoban system much more accurate than the official MapleStory? Before you say that they have a much more smaller community, the only difference that would be is that it would require a much larger server to check all the players online at once, but thats pretty much it.
GMs: People say that GMs aren't online often, heck, we don't know at all. Stop going in Hide guys! If you are in Hide, it causes people to believe that no GMs are on!! Get them off Hide for a couple of minutes, talk to players (be more user friendly then the "I am a Super Profesional Guy!", this should make people believe that GMs are online for quite damn often.
Night Shift GMs: After looking through hacking forums to see what you guys could improve, there are guides on how to hack, and it appears that the best time to hack is overnight. Hire night shift GMs! Also make them active and not-on-Hide all the time, this is so that Australian players don't hack to deal with players hacking/botting and get to talk with sleepy GMs !
MWLB: Where did they go? Did they disappear because the Black Mage decided to eat them all? Demote all MWLB members and hire some of the active users or semi active users that isn't going to disappear so often! Make sure that they aren't some outsider or have a bad reputation against the community.
Being More Open: Be more open to the community! Post more in BasilMarket/Southperry! The developers/workers of Nexon should hold MORE chat events (specifically w/ Southperry since we Southperrians are much more awesome). We should get live video chats w/ Nexon workers in the building. Like, a tour of the Nexon office with Luis.
street Wrote:I dont see how using tespia would have been able to detect exploits. Please explain this to me.
I was referring to all the crap they fucked up this patch, no necessarily this exploit. But honestly, they should at least be on to the patterns of the hacking community to know how to not build events because they'll just get exploited.
