Maplestory producer E3 interview with Crstyn Cox

Because while, yes, the Ice Knight update was delayed for KMS, they also got Future Henesys/Ereve with the Crafting System (as opposed to PvP as you listed).

Ice Knight isn't a big enough addition to warrant a whole section to itself, as others have noted.
Makes more sense to break up Crafting and Future since they're both pretty huge additions.
I can almost promise that the future won't be split up from Crafting.

No no, we need some pessimism here! How's this?

1. Class revamp, Aran's lose 20sp because of Snow Charge moving. No sp reset until some Hot Time event.
2. Crafting, but they forget to add the rocks and plants that give ores and oils.
3. Future, but no means to get there as the portal in ToT causes the client to crash. Also the crash comes with a 3 minute rb for the player, causing widespread duping.
4. PvP, but it has the same time zone as KMS, so few people will ever bother doing it.
5. Mastyria update, but CWKPQ becomes glitched and the sigils can't be activated.

Let's start speculating on what GMS staff will add in for the 5th part of Chaos... which I'm still trying to grasp at the fact that there are 5 parts...

Actually, let me just hope that Tespia will be up for each part.

Well if you had read the twist on my prediction, then it really would have come out as pessimism. CWKPQ is hard to top (in my opinion), so if my prediction proves correct, then Mastyria would become pretty much worthless.

I doubt it would be broken. Maybe only working for Adventurers only but other classes can still enter.

They might make that Maple Idol thing the 5th update. That would suck. :/

Then I'd assume they'd start on JUMP.

They're really trying hard to stretch content, huh? Really looking forward to finding out what the "GMS-exclusive" content is though!

I'm pretty sure that Maple Idol thing was tied in with the KMS anniversary events, so no.

This patching method would be great if they actually split the patching into many pieces, which would give them time to keep working and polishing the next mini patches and fix bugs in the released ones. UNLIKE one freaking big patch with all the content and 4 more scheduled S/C's to activate every part within it Tongue

People, I just thought of what the 5th part of the chaos update can be.

What is more chaotic than the whole maple world being invaded by aliens abducting people left and right? It was released close to the end of the summer last year aswell.

You got it pals, Visitors event is back for chaos.

How the pineapple did you get Masteria from "it's a secret. It's thematically appropriate."

Seriously, that sort of baseless, ridiculous assumption makes my blood boil. Now people are going to get all pissy when they don't give us Masteria, claiming that they promised they would.

HEY SON I'VE GOT A PRESENT FOR YOU

IT'S A NEW CAR!!!!!???

OPEN IT!

*OPENS IT* WHAT THE pineapple IT'S A BASEBALL BAT YOU PROMISED ME A CAR YOU peach YOU SUCK

Based on the presumption that GMS will never depart from KMS's release schedule despite the fact that they have in the past?

You kinda fail at pessimism. I suggest you leave it to the professionals.

Glitches will happen. That's not pessimism, it's fact.
However, all of the theoretical issues you listed have simple fixes.

There's no 'fix' for a lack of exclusive content other than... well, releasing exclusive content.
Temporarily glitched content is still sexier to me than perfectly flawless new classes.

There will always be server checks to activate different parts of a big patch.

Saying masteria in any response to what they said in this interview is nothing but optimism in the highest form.
