Martial arts, magic, what's the difference? It's not real martial arts, they just use "advanced martial arts techniques" as a means of explaining why people can fly and shoot fire. I'm gonna lump the combat and the jumping/flying into one thing since they're both part of overall character control. I think it's cool, but it doesn't really strike me as particularly innovative.

Being meticulous to add in a seperate unique reaction to any action, dependent on the character is pretty innovative. As I said, I can't even think of a game that shares the same perks as this does. By the way, the fighter does use real life martial art's, it's just over the top in power and flexibility. I'm not sure what the other classes may use, outside of mage, but I'm sure, much like ruroni kenshin, there's martial art techniques for specific weapons.

Doing a little research into martial arts techniques for inspiration for skill names and model design does not make it real life martial arts. Nobody spins a big sword around in real life, either.

I'll get it when I come home. It's actually in the interview for development questions. The AI does adapt, if I recall. But what I was trying to say was; Scorpion getting hit by a fist from a certain "race" will be different to how it reacts to a different race. Also body type, and when in the combo determines how the monster reacts.

No, I haven't done research into the game, because I haven't seen anything that looks particularly interesting enough to make me want to dig further. You keep bringing up different things that you think are innovative, and they're really not. Look what a quick google search for "Asian Martial Arts MMO" turned up.

That's the first page of results. I'll grant you that none of those are particuarly successful (or even likely to be good) games, but my point is that Asians love martial arts-inspired fantasy stories. Have you seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or Hero? This is not new stuff. I don't care if the martial arts is realistic or not.
AI responding to your actions on a deeper level than a basic script, on the other hand, is something that you don't see in any current MMOs that I know of. That sounds great, but difficult to implement in a MMO unless you want individual encounters to be more than 15 second ordeals.
