So i pay like $100 extra to look at what should already be in the UI?

Read The Text on the pictures and the screens on the controllers I believe they are just personal screens as they are called so you don't have to look at the T.V just the controller so GO BIG (T.V.) or Handheld for games like Mario Kart as the screen shows. But this is just what I think they are used for I can be totally off to what it means.

I honestly don't think that it has anything to dow ith the wii's specs really: The kind of person that have been insulting the wii through its life would probably do it to any nintendo console, even if the new one is insanely better in every way technically than the ps3 and 360, the "core" gamers will shoot it down, because, essentially, core is just a banner which 360 and ps3 fanboy sgroup together and fly.

Well, gamers have gone back to the Wii whenever there was a quality title on it, like Galaxy or No More Heroes. The fact is that only happens three or four times a year, and then their Wii would just started gathering dust again. I mean, I haven't even touched my Wii since DKC Returns.

I don't want to pop up a menu to look at that stuff, nor do I want it cluttering the screen on the TV. And we don't even know what the price is. Don't believe all the rumours about Café. I don't even think that the concept art/advertisement are even legit.

Just because they're releasing a new system does not mean the Wii needs to be replaced.

Let me rephrase that. "but the Wii is already being replaced."

I could also say to an extent though that it "needs" to be replaced because they're producing a new console in the first place, which i assume is also going to play different games.

No motion sensors, no touch screens, no interaction beyond hands and controller, for God's sake just let us collapse after a busy day with a good game. Is it so hard?

Console is cool. Controller is ugly.

Are you serious? You'd rather either have to MOVE THE CONTROLLER UP IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE or TAKE FOCUS OFF THE TV to look at your stats then to open a menu? That is ridiculous to me. There's no effective way to balance looking at a TV and a controller either. I would rather look at a UI on the TV than have to keep glancing down at my controller any day.

I'm just saying, I enjoyed the way games like LoZ: 4swords and FF Crystal Chronicles worked on the gamecube. And I'm assuming the same sort of principle would apply to the controller (if the controller is actually what it is)

quite true, the DS and 3DS are currently existing side-by-side quite well. i'm aware the 3DS just came about but the DS still has massive support

._. less than a month old dude.... of course it "still has massive support".

The masses are waiting for something GOOD to be available for the 3ds, and even then... it will take probably like 9 months to a year for the 3ds to be predominant.

Much too early to make a comment as everything about it is currently subject to change.

All I can say is, ''Go on Nintendo, impress me.'' If they don't then I just won't buy the system, it's that simple. I really don't even play consoles or handhelds anymore though as not enough games interest me enough to go out and get a system these days.

I just hope that in the end, this is a console for game players. The Wii was for game doers.

I also prefer traditional controlling games.

Atleast if there was a PS4 or a Xbox 540.. you could say oh yeah, Kingdom Hearts and God of War.. oh yeah, Call of Duty and Halo..

The controllers must be expensive as hell. Considering how controllers these days are already so damn pricy, I'd hate to imagine one like this because it has the touchscreen on it.

Also, how to hold this thing? They said that the screen alone is about 6 inches; I'd hate to imagine holding the controller. It'd be the ugly love child between a Nintendo 64 and Xbox controller.

For me, this doesn't sound very appealing, but I'm hoping they'll be able to suprise me.

Oh, you gotta be kidding me.

Regardless of what they intend to do regarding the screen, if they don't 1. move the shoulder buttons and 2. make the handles GRASPABLE then this is going to suck.
