Possible Thief Changes?
#21
FoolsLove Wrote:What? No you can't. It took me just under 2 weeks to hit 120 on my mechanic, and I am very far from a casual player. A casual player would reach 120 in a month+.

Really? It took me 3 days to level my Mechanic to 103, if anything.

It's possible to hit 120 from 1 in roughly 2-3 days, but by no means is it easy. We're getting off topic here. Let's get back to brainstorming ways Nexon can make nightlords suck less.

Well, for once, I'd love to see a double jump skill, to have WITH flash jump. Bonus points for letting you do a "jump-flash jump-second jump-flash jump again" combo. For Night Lords at least, we are the moving ones (Scaping, dodging to avoid attacks, etc), Shadowers are stealth. And on that subject, yeah, Shadowers definitely need that perfect Dark Sight thing.

And Night Lord needs a LOT of skill changes. Not damage wise, but usefulness. Like that KB skill. Right now, it's a skill that needs to be maxed to be useful at 4th, and the usefulness it brings is to KB stuff to... Well, I don't know! And also that Ninja ambush one. Only that one's not even useful maxed. And this is 4th job!

120 in two weeks is for average players IMO
took me 3 days for my Mech.
It was great, the only time I have seen myself at the top of the ranking (even very breifly)

Then I got a girlfriend and stopped playing...

OT: I agree, NL NEED skill changes... so many skills are just usless or are never used.

I think web makes a comeback in PvP, since it immobilizes and isn't interrupted upon next attack.

Animation changes for a bunch of the CB skills. Some of them are pre-Jump WK horrible tier.

@ShanghaiDizzy - Oh i have played an NL, not a lot but enough to know that. Just i dont see anything that needs fixing.
Avenger since BB is pretty beefed up and their 1v1 TT is strong enough. In my eyes NLs was never meant to mob. like it seems shadowers was never supose to 1v1.

also, @Locked - I meant make it much easyer to use, on my shad any little lag in assassinate and it feels horrible. Not forgetting the glitch when accidently using it twice. and As you should know SBw/SP + bstep combo atm beats assers uncharged blows..

New CB skill: Steel Circle [Max lv: 10] Summons the Steel Circle in front of you for 120 seconds. The circle does not move and when you attack it shards of steel will fly out at a 20% rate per strike to attack the enemy for 100% damage. Activates Pickpocket. (Replaces shield mastery) Cooldown: 240 seconds
New Shadower skill: Advanced Steel Circle [Max lv: 20] Summons the Advanced Steel Circle in front of you for 120 seconds. The circle stays in front of you always and shards of steel will fly out at a 30% rate for 150% damage. (Replaces Ninja ambush) Cooldown: 180 seconds

You never played a NL. Playing a NL is something else than spamming the same key over and over. But it gets really close, and that's what everyone complains. Numbers don't mean all.

[New Night Lord Skill] Cling: Player leaps up and clings to the bottom of a platform above him/her in the same manner that Dark Lord clings to the ceiling in the Thief Job Advancement map. While on hanging onto the platform the player's attacks will gain a 30% bonus for all attacks that target a monster on a lower platform. Skill is deactivated by jumping. Replaces Ninja Ambush.

[Skill Change] Venom: Player's attacks become poison elemental. Damage 120%, attacks will cause 50% DoT for 5 seconds. DoT will stack with itself up to 4 times.

[ULTIMATE for Night Lords] Bloody Rain: Player rapidly flash jumps upward and lets out a massive rain of stars that attack 15 enemies 5 times for 150% damage, before coming down the player sends down a Dark Flare star that lets out a massive shock wave that deals 500% damage as well as sets a Dark Flare. The Dark Flare set by the skill is completely independent of its third job counterpart.

[New Skill for Shadowers] Continuous Assault: Assaulter gains a 30% damage boos and can be used rapidly if the skill is used again before the previous Assaulter's frames are finished. Each consecutive Assaulter is 30% weaker than the one prior, but the move can be used to attack monsters in a similar fashion to Chain Lightning. The skill can be used up to 5 times in a row at max level. Replaces Ninja Ambush.

Hehe, yet another of my passing thoughts that's probably never going to be implemented. Hell, I'm not sure how Thieves can even be changed really. The Thief classes don't have much room for creativity in this game. Dual Blades took everything that should have done with Bandits and then some, and Night Lords just don't have many real options with their attacks other than throwing even more stars.

I like my shield mastery.

@alloy I didnt say they dont need variety in their skills just that their main 2 skills, TT and Avenger dont need changing unless nexon pineappleed them up in chaos but since i dont play in kms i wouldnt know. I would love for NLs to get new skills i was only saying that out of the 2 thief classes NLs are pretty much in the least need for major bufpapayae. Yes shadowers got boosted a lot but in some situations we are reduced to spamming bstep+BoT on single targets cause of how mesos fall on bosses, This is why i would like to see assassinate changed. I still love the charging but seriously its slow if i used that to assassinate a real person they would notice and slap me in the face with a trout. Just sayin.

Oh, before I forget, Meso guard also needs to guard 60% of 1/1 attacks on MP, not only 60% of HP.

When you're charging Assassinate (most DPS) and you get 1/1'ed you can't do shiet, because you have 1 mp left, instead of 40mp for 1x assassinate (or w/e the mp costs are), even with a Bishop around... And since spamming (not charging to max) Assassinate does totally crap DPS, this -really- needs to be fixed.

It's either that, or make it possible to use potions/skills in (advanced?) dark sight.

You have been able to pot in DS since Big Bang.

Ninja's Wrath - [Passive, requires maxed Shadow Shifter] Dodge enemy attacks at an even higher rate than with Shadow Shifter, returning the favour with 2 large throwing stars capable of piercing through multiple enemies. (Damage is based on own damage range)

Nexon's fail memoryleaks crashes maple before I can even try to repot... :+)

But no, I didn't really try if it was possible, since noone really told it was possible in the first place.

And now, my Mechanic does twice the DPS of my Shad, despite being 7 lvls lower and wearing same equips (except for dagger), and since survival (HP) and tactics (Damage avoid) are not important anymore in Maple, Shadowers are a useless class to play. Cool movement, but really useless... Unless you pay a shietload of NX to get godly items (Dragon Khanjar) that doen't drop from monsters, except from the gachapon end-game boss monster...

It's funny to see the difference in DPS when both chars have the same unpotentialled equips:
- Mechanic lvl 148 @ Papu -> 2min 34 secs (no potential crap)
- Shadower lvl 155 @ Papu -> 5mins 10 secs (no potential crap)

Also Shadowers totally suck at platform bosses, since mesos drop on the grond (for M.E.) and Assassinate 4th hit doesn't work (since you can't move, and other 3 hits have 0% Critical rate, even with 5% Base + 10% Ring + Sharp Eyes. And Assassinate range is too retarded small...

But yeah, maple memory leaks keeps crashing maple, so no I don't really play maple anymore... Sad

could only really think of shadower changes, I never played on a NL extensively.

2nd job (Sin/Dit):
add another effect into shadow resistance:
taking damage under a set % of your max HP will activate a stance effect.
lvl 1: 6% max HP
lvl 20 25% max HP
( if you had 1k hp and max shadow resistance all damage under 250 will not cause a KB effect whereas everything over 250 will cause the regular kb)

3rd job (CB):
Meso Sharpened (buff):
buffs party damage by 10%, however consumes mesos based on the damage done. buff has no effect if you do not have enough mesos. Meso sharpened has an additional effect of causing random side effects to regular mobs: (@max 5% chance of blind, 10% chance of slow, 3% chance to recover equal amount of damage done into HP or MP, 1% instant death, 5% stun, 5% chance of seal) if the target is boss flaged the side effects do not activate but does add in an additional effect of ignoring 20% the target's defense (in addition to the 10% dmamge buff)
lvl 1: 10% boost in damage, 120 second duration, 1% of damage is taken from mesos (1k dmg will use 10 mesos) maximum mesos used per hit will not exceed 500.
lvl 10: 10% boost in damage, 240 second duration, 0.1% of damage done will be taken from mesos ( 1k dmg will use 1 meso) maximum mesos consumed per hit is 200.

4th job (shadower):
Assassinate changes:
have a charge gauge similar to grenade for charging assassinate
allow assassinate to break cap
allow assassinate to be used outside of DS (in this mode will not activate 4th hit)
allow assassinate to hit more than 1 target (maybe 1 at lvl 1 and 3 @ max).
change assassinate will give a short buff that boosts critical for a short period.
lvl 1: 5% crit boost per-second in DS (small buff lasts equal time spent in DS i.e. 4 second charge will yield +20% crit for 4 seconds after breaking DS with assassinate )
lvl 30 10% crit rate boost per-second while in DS (small buff lasts equal time spent in DS i.e. 8 second charge will yield +80% crit for 8 seconds after breaking DS with assassinate)

Add Ultimate (replace ambush):
Night Ambush: Summons shadow creatures from the night to attack all visible foes on screen multiple times.
Animation would be cause the screen to darken similar to Dark genesis or Dark fog. your character's eyes would gleam red for a split second then would vanish for a second and assassinate-like slashes, assaulter-like stabs and daggers impale targets, with perhaps bite like attacks thrown in.
-the skill has a set number of attacks preformed at max it is 30, thus if 1 target was available onscreen it would take 30 individual attacks to that 1 target, if there was 2 then each would receive 15, 3 targets then 10 attacks on each, and so on-
lvl 1: 10 attacks at 350% damage per attack, 10% chance to place the target into darkness, 1% chance of instant death 60 second cooldown
lvl 30 30 attacks at 500% damage , 95% chance to place target into darkness, 3% chance of instant death. 30 second cooldown.

still thinking of ideas.
