Think anyone who gets that should change their password to their email? But I also access via my phone>.>
I would. That's what I've told my mom to do, and she'll probably change the rest of our passwords as a result.
EDIT: AFK, class.

Eh. Not a big deal to those who know of it.

I honestly think this is FUD.
Just because you got randomly hacked doesn't mean the database itself is to blame.

I just don't believe it was random, as Locked stated. If you wanted to hack me it would have taken a considerable amount of effort, and that's no exaggeration.
I also feel as if this is a, "I won't care until it happens to me" issue. If that's the case for some of you, then so be it.
I can't help those who don't want to be helped.
EDIT: Please note the word "possible" in the thread title. I'm not solely blaming the database, I just wanted to confirm, or deny, whether it was in fact a possibility.

I would only believe this if there was a MASSSSSSSIVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE hacker outbreak like Christmas 2009. Otherwise you did say one person knew your info so I point my finger at them

Adding to this.
Your friend could have had a virus, or have gotten hacked himself first and thus you were indirectly added into this.

lol my collegeboard email address is a dead email account that i only use on rare occasions. not only that, my maple account associated with that account is completely and utterly useless since nexon did the : LOL i can change your password and not tell you! And i can't recover cause i made the account when i was young and naive and didn't put accurate ish information. Go hack my account hackers. you'll find an inventory of ores and nothing much more than free character slots and level 50 gears.

For the last few days, my PIC has been changed each time I tried to log in to the game. I figured I might have a keylogger, but avast hasn't picked anything up. I changed my email pass and my game pass/PIC yesterday, and it hadn't been changed this morning, so I figure I might be safe now.
Weird thing is that none of my stuff had been stolen, but a few of my characters had been moved to FM and apparently killed (I only had like 70 HP upon logging in). Maybe they used me for meso selling? Who knows.
Edit: Also, my Collegeboard email is a Gmail, but my Nexon account is attached to a Hotmail. I think my email account was hijacked but I don't know.

The series of events would have led to his main being hacked as well. Also note that I changed the info to my account after he had scanned his computer, before he ever logged on it again.
Edit: I've also stated that his FM mule was hacked twice before this. I failed to mention that it was nearly a month ago.

I think your friend hacked you and then he got hacked. Most people who do get hacked refuse to say they gave their info out because they don't want to look stupid. Or went to one of those sites. By admitting yes you have giving out your info we can draw that conclusion.
On NBC nightly news Brian Williams jsut did a report about those strange emails.

i've been hacked before a couple times (once between aran and pypq and another in october of last year) and it had to have been through some sort of exploit because in my entire maple career the only maple sites i've ever been to are SP, SW, and BM. never went to a hacking site or anything like that, never account shared (i don't even have friends in real life that play or even play with buddies on line or in a guild for the most part), etc. both occurred during long periods of inactivity too. i logged onto my account months after the PIC system came out, set a PIC, and saw that I was hacked, so I had to have been hacked between 3-9 months prior, and the second time I only knew the date because my equips were MTS'ed and showed when and for how much they were sold. that happened during a six month hiatus sometime.

Yeah, his friend who has info to dozens of other peoples accounts (including mine) that are worth 5-10 times what Panacea's was worth faked his mule's hacking and then hacked him and nobody else. Get real. I've known the guy for 3 years, he's known Panacea longer. Yet he decided to hack the person he's known longer and who's account is worth less. That makes sense.
There is something else going on, because I've heard of other random hackings in the last 2 weeks as well.
And I've even heard the rumor that remote hack is back, and the person doing it is everyone's old friend DoezX.

I fell victim to that... I thought all my crap was secured. I always guessed I got unlucky, but now I wasn't the only one. Huh.

Pretty much this.
To be honest, I don't care what you believe, I just want people to be aware of it. If you think this is FUD, then go for it. I'm not trying to scare people, I'm just trying to inform them that something's not right.
