Your favourite boss battles
#21
I uh... really liked the Super Mario Sunshine fight on the roller coaster with the rockets and robo-Bowser. Yeah.
And the bone pirate dude from Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
Final battle in Golden Sun 1 sticks in my head too, not so much for the fight but because I remember beating it while on the toilet with a clutch Thor summon.

I was thinking about that fight but it was more annoying than fun...it took me about 60 tries or something ridiculous before I even beat it.

This was the only fun boss in the entire game. You had to use the dual hookshot at least 3 or 4 times before you were even high enough to take on this massive dragon. My eyes were beaming with anticipation as I hookshoted my way through the sky like fucking Spider Man, slinging from one platform to the next. The music for the battle was, for lack of a better word, epic in its tone and perfectly caught the tenor of the fight as a thunder storm raged in the background and I was fighting this beast thousands of feet in the air. Everything about this battle; the magnitude, the awesome use and reinvention of the hookshot and the amount of variety packed into this one single battle made that game for me. I place this boss fight above all of the ones found in OOT and MM.

:3

I remember saving before the boss fight, then killing it, then restarting the game, then repeating. I loved that boss fight so much. They need more bosses like that. It was almost like fighting Ridley in Metroid Prime, except with more movement on Link's part.

In my mentioning of Chrono Trigger, how could I have forgotten!

OK, so that isn't really a boss or anything and I think that is part of my problem in recalling what some of you would constitute as a good boss battle. My memory has put a higher priority on character of the boss rather than the challenge or variety level.

I wanted to put
 Dark Cloud 2 Optional
in here, but the battle itself was too easy. Same with a majority of the bosses from Mystical Ninja staring Goemon and Terrenigma.

Now then, further examining of my past has gotten these.

Link's Crossbow Training
No quality vids in English, sorry.

Radiata Stories
 Optional

And I'm going to leave it at that. I'm sure I have more, but again, I can't seem to remember them, and this whole browsing You-tube nonsense when you don't know what you're looking for takes too much time.

I leave the nostalgia in your hands. Bring us the good stuff.

I just remembered about this ! ! I know Legend of Mana wasn't the greatest game or anything, but I love the artwork, music, and combat system.

 Legend of Mana <Final boss??>

PS: I had a sh`itton of dragon-looking pets too, they were great.

I found that boss to be quite memorable as well.

What ruined it for me was thinking about why there are floating plants in the sky everywhere.

Just saw these two for the first time last night. So awesome.

Note: Both of these are Radiata Stories bonus dungeon bosses.

The music is so good! Both prior to and in battle

Why you guys no post Lavos? Lamers.

No Megaman of any sort?

 Chrono Trigger Lavos 2nd form

 Chrono Trigger Lavos Core Battle

 Megaman X Sigma

 Turtles in Time Super Shredder

And how can you forget Smithy? Awesome music, and looks like the precursor to Robot Santa.
 Super Mario RPG Smithy
 Megaman 7 Wily 2nd form

How many times can you say you bought a giant robotic monster made of lava?
 Axelay Stage 5 boss

I'd post the DS version which I played, but the Wii has prettier music.
