Meh. I wasted 400 mill for my Staff 1 and 2 for my F/P AM. There goes all that money to waste...

lol @ people complaining about this. Newsflash, Blizz does that exact same thing in WoW, it's called "Hotfixes" and they don't announce the changes until a few hours after they've already happened.

Oh, my poor lukless Blaze Wizard... Got him a cheap horribly-scrolled ewand 1, way back when, because I figured the 25% boost more than compensated for a few missing m.att.
Now the boost is gone and m.att counts for a lot more than it used to. Ah well, BoF mule is now well and truly BoF mule and nothing else. This was really underhanded of Nexon, however. All the "surprises" associated with Big Bang... And the "we are working on a solution", what is this rubbish? How could this have been "intended" if the ramifications weren't considered beforehand? Not just the effect on character strength but the effect on player satisfaction? (Answer is, of course: it was "intended" by Nexon Korea. The American branch never knew about it until people started complaining.) Fail Big Bang is fail.

Blizzard also doesn't profit massively off of any one specific item over a long time before changing it and also neglecting to mention it. People spent hundreds gaching for a chance at these and also dumped money into the MTS to get them. I know because I spent $35 ($15 and $20) on two of these. Also spent 300m on another a couple years ago. I just bought my most recent one in preparation for Big Bang to compliment my Chain Lightning. Now I've got 3 useless wands/staves. Nexon spent 3 months hyping up Big Bang. Could've taken 12 seconds to say BY THE WAY, ELEMENTAL WANDS ARE GOING TO BE TOO POWERFUL SO ENJOY THAT WHILE IT LASTS back in September.

Blizzard doesn't profit massively over one or two changes? One or two patch changes can cause hundreds to thousands of people to quit or play their games, and in many cases makes the difference between thousands of dollars, and people's careers.

Sounds like SCGs after the potential system was introduced. The SCG became just about worthless overnight even though people have spent a lot of money getting it. This is not the first time that this has happened, and I doubt it will be the last. The items you have today will absolutely suck in two years. That's the way Maplestory works to keep you playing, and it's unfortunate that things like this happen.

I am the owner of multiple expensive elemental weapons and I still don't see what there is to complain about.

I can understand if it was 15% and there was an extra digit to make it 115% or something, but the whole number is just random. Even if it was 1555555%, I'd just imagine someone fell asleep on the keyboard and 5 was repeated, but this isn't thw case. I cannot for the life of my fathom how one could mistake a value like that with a straight face. There are so many things wrong with that event notice, it's like they did it intentionally.

There was no forewarning to EWands being nerfed. (Where did they come from? jMS? What did jMS do with them and BB?)

it would have been nice for us to experience the elemental boost, with these weapons before they remove it...as an ice mage i don't see no balance for ice mages, that freaking big bang skill sux and making it lighting base, is the worst idea. i rather use ice strike to train thn big bang the range is better and it freeze. what the h3ll will i do with my elemental staff 7&8, QQing bloody murder

The SCGs were as powerful as ever, there were just better equips available. This is more like if they had nullified the attack on all of them completely.

Long as they give a good compensation all should be well.
I would be more worried but i already had my staff hacked and taken from me, i'm glad to know its now useless to whoever took it though since i only had the lame lower level one. I do know when those weapons came out people were gaching loads for them though, i feel bad for anyone who got less than a year's worth of use from them before the nerf. Then again, those that were aware of the buff mages would be getting from big bang should have thought twice before shooting for one of these staves.

Couple that with the fact that now MA is highly sought after, what is there to complain about?b |
