At least they didn't do what JMS did and completely change DBs and Evan's stories.

No, not even big bang. The +% HP from equipments is more than enough. You don't even need it really so long as you actually know what the f'uck you're doing though.

Orly? What about some boss attacks which deal 12k+? You would have not to fight and let people with enough HP fight instead to get through some of the bosses as an unwashed ranged class.

I'm pretty sure most if not all bosses in NT are dodge-able, besides, with Evans/Arans/Paladins/%HP there is really no reason not for NT to get in. The fact that its " hard" means something can actually be a challenge without it being damn near impossible. Plenty of people in jMS and MSEA, including ranged people that can't take a hit, have participated in and enjoyed Neo Tokyo.

I don't even see why thats an excuse, by your logic RGS, BF, PB, CHT, and ChZ should of never been released.

And if we have their attention, we need to up the ante. And not stop until they put investment in more programmers for GMS content. Obviously not on a big scale as a game studio (because they just closed the one in Canuck land), but large enough to have a dedicated team bigger than whatever small team they have now.
LETS HOLD THEM FOR RANSOM! But naw I think your right about the getting attention thing, but for now lets watch Takebacker and Combattne duke it out. Popcorn?

Wanna do the math and tell me what that number is after threaten is counted for? >_> Iirc, the number you're referring to applies for bergamot's touch? All the other bosses have much less physical attack then that, except for aufheben.

as well as events that require NX to participate in!

Oh for the love of god, get the pineapple over Neo Tokyo already. You're as bad as SwordStaker when it comes to this crap. Don't spam up this topic with your "WAHHHHH IT COULD BE GOOD"'s.

Also, I think some of you are taking Eurydice's words too literally. They meant all of Nexon America's employees work in the same office (GMs, devs, etc) not that Nexon America, Korea and Japan all work together in the same office.

Also also, there was no foreshadowing or hinting at anything here. People wanted more interaction and they're providing us with it. This was little more than an introduction, don't read too much into it.

I can't tell if you're referring to me sarah (forgive me if you're not) but i couldn't give 2 s'hits about what they put in this game now. My college networks block access to nexon's servers, so i can't play anymore.

"Oh look at gMS over there, we make all the content and they can't even port it over!"

Combattente Wrote:@rayhovite: I agree. As you said, all MapleStory versions should run on the same codebase, so that excuse is really stupid. Though, the code doesn't always mesh perfectly, because gMS might have some changes in the code which kMS doesn't have and vice-versa, so it might take more time than expected.

Similarities in forked codebases only make porting features from one to the other more challenging because the small differences are easier to overlook in the vast sea of similarity.

I absolutely was because you were headed down the same awful road as with every other topic where Neo Tokyo is mentioned.

iirc, Prose said awhile ago that all gMS content is developed in Korea and that Nexon America only sends in concept drawings, pretty much. Then Korea sends them a finished product. Something like that.

No, I believe this was literal - He said the Developers, as in the people in KMS who actually do the wz building, and we already know for a fact those people are in fact all in the Korean office so it fits. It's not really something to argue over though since it lacks any discussion value.

For whatever reason, this reminded me of that one Dev response someone on my team got for a bug they reported. I'll admit, it was a very small bug, but the response was so blunt it ended up being pinned to the wall for the duration of development.

"I haven't had enough coffee this morning to deal with this pomegranate." Bug Waived.

This wasn't bad, was it, though? The stories could do some work, but it's practice. The Kerning Square rewrite was very nice, art-wise, quest-wise, and it really means that they can now get Taipei 101 without issues.

what? no.

Dual monitors running code preview..... easily match up the differences. And that's the hard pain-in-the-ass way. I'm sure there are easier methods than the ones I used when i hex edited SNES code eons ago to compare differences in code from JPN and US versions.

If Maple code modding (or porting if you prefer that term) is anything like Call of Duty modding, then you would need the client and server code for one monitor and the client/server code for the father code on the other. I would guess they face the same issues as some things should only come server side but the client module can't have conflict. And this is all going without a SDK. You're telling me the Korean MS dev team provides barebone code to the other teams throughout the globe? That would be a drag, but you still wouldn't need months if you have even a DM setup. I'm very interested to know how they do the process.

Also..... the dev blog could not have been posted at a more horrible time. The PS3 Jailbreak is being ported from different phones and their respective OS platforms, and even to the TI 84 calculator. The iphone linux version is out, and to do that, you need to compile your own binaries. "Porting" a Maple patch seems like a walk in the park in comparison. :p
