Does GMS need the BB patch ASAP?

I understand what you're saying, but thats a little bit of a selfish mindset.

At any rate I dont get what you're thinking, OP. You're complaining the game is getting too easy, but you realize Big Bang just makes everyone stronger and cuts the exp curve drastically right.

Mob experience is cut too, so I'm unsure of the exact growth change. My lv 55 Wild Hunter was leveling 5 times faster than my friend's lv 45 Gunslinger, although WHs train at unholy speeds, even on kMS standards.

Yeah 'cause not wanting to play version of a game where you can't read anything or understand most people along with insane lag and the possibility of being banned because you can't read anything makes you a slackass.

Anyway, don't really care either way. Crappy poll is crappy.

>Implying it's laziness not to want to move to KMS where you have to jump through hoops just to make one account.
>Implying KMS isn't just as greedy as GMS.

Someone needs to calm down and stop acting like KMS is the s'hit.

[SIZE=3]Nexon needs to release Big Bang before WoW Cataclysm. Otherwise they are going to lose a TON of players to an also heavily revamped and rebalanced MMO. If Nexon can't even do that, they truly have my pity.

KMS did finally defeat Pink Bean right after Big Bang, however they gave it a 75 PDRate and KMS hasn't defeated it since.

Sometimes I wonder whether or not the Free NX surveys are written by Random_Overlord. Sometimes I ponder the infectiousness of blarghy113's condition.

Yes we need the BB Patch ASAP but not for any of the reasons you gave. If anything the current game is to hard for tha average player.

Big Bang makes it harder if you don't have potential gear.

No. It's not as easy to start playing or play kMS as you make it sound >_> And how am I feeding Nexon, when I play gMS? I don't buy NX, If others quitted buying nx too, then it would be clear and effective message to Nexon America.

we need BB patch ASAP, so maybe finally nexon make maple win7/vista compatible, the only reason i really want BB patch.

Yes we need Big bang, but as some folks already pointed out, not for the reasons topic starter listed. They could just as well have released a few higher than ToT areas and settle for a revamp in some skills and slight changes in formulas. The game needed changes for the last 50 levels the most. This total revamp works for that, and helps to end the silly grindfest that keeps alot of potential players off of Maple. Not everything about big bang is great, far from it, but hell, it is better than to just leave the crap going as it is now.

Another quality random_overlord thread. Lovely.

But every version "needs" the big bang. But that doesn't mean we need it right away. It's like any other job or class; we're going to have to wait a few months to get it. You need to remember there's little to nothing left post big-bang to release. And the big bang isn't really "the shiit". It's cool and all, but it really isn't "OMG WE NEEDZ IT RIGHT AWAY !!!!!11!!one!!11!1!". If you're thinking that, you're probably selfish and are thinking in the mindset of the "me me me" generation, where you need to have everything you want now or you're going to throw a hissy-fit.

Case and Point: The big bang is cool and all, but it isn't essential and we don't need it right away. Nor will we get it right away. Give it a few months. We will get it faster then most versions (due to nexon's content rush) but that doesn't mean we can get it right now. This is what I was saying months ago when I was saying nexon was over-saturating their players in content. The more you give them, the more they'll want. Thread value: 0/1

Agree.

Anyway, i think nexon realizes the faster we get it the better it'll be for both their players and themselves. Better in a lot of respects, from cash flow to activity to raking in new players. Vanilla MS sucks at this point since all the crap they've put into the game just makes things worse and worse. Plus the faster they catch up to KMS the more time they'll have to focus on their own endeavors.

This. That's not to say that, like others have mentioned, the game will all of a sudden "be equalized and hard again." The game was pineappleed the second the potential system was released. At least the Big Bang patch smooths out some of the glaring imperfections a bit.

But only a bit. PD/MDRate is the only safeguard I see that can truly help neutralize/balance the insane damage of all players, and even that is hastily thrown together and poorly applied throughout mobs. For this game to make more sense, all normal mobs should have rates between 30-40, triple/quadruple what they are now, while bosses all have rates 50+, with PB at 75. Even then, that's asking to create a whole new system just to fix something broken in the first place. Why not go back and fix the original problem?

I guess the bottom line is this: remember when we could glitch PYPQ to get the 400% damage buff outside Ariant for an hour? Everyone was abusing it trying to do the best pomegranate in town, like downing PB, which never occurred. We've now killed PB a good couple of weeks into the potential patch. That should tell you how OP'd and poorly done the system is.

I don't see how that shows the system is OP--Pink Bean has only been killed ONCE in GMS by a group of top-tier players who not only had gear and stuff beyond what normal people would dream of but had--to my knowledge--attempted PB before potential system and had actually gotten reasonably close to killing it--potential just gave them that last boost. You're acting as if any joe can just magically get +30% dammage +9% mainstat everything and waltz on over to PB/HT/CHT/CZak and down them in like 20 minutes and that's not the case. The potential system only further shows that the people with the most money win. How many people honestly are going to get that much godly gear, no, are going to have the money and NX to get all that gear from the constant scrollings and cubings and risking things with potential and enhance scrolls?

I'm pretty sure most of the vids we've seen of people doing ridic damage post-BB are high-leveled characters with tons of awesome potential gear. What about all the average players we don't see? I agree that the PD/MDrate should be there, but what's the point of making everything harder and harder for the average player just so the best of the best won't be as "broken"? Now if people with average funding start like soloing zak at 125 in under an hour then I'll concede it's broken beyond belief but c'mon.

I still don't understand the potential system. What's the point in making the amount of damage possible so high that even a damage cap of 1 MILLION feels constricting for some? I can understand making it so that the level of your gear depends on the level of your funds and to destroy the standard of comparing classes through base damage, but the way they did it was all wrong. Even to accomplish those fixes, making the system dependant on the amount of NX you can throw in their wallets is retarded. Miracle cubes should have been a drop, not a cash item.

PD/MDrate was a pretty good solution to the HP limit in my opinion. Making multi part bosses kind of gets old, but it's really the only way of making a boss fight harder. With PD/MDR, you stretch the 2.1m cap up to 4.18ish. I could imagine them giving a boss 99% PD/MDR, which would give the players such a feeling of hopelessness in winning the fight. Would you think you're getting anywhere if your damage is cut down to 1% of what it can be while having to down 2.1m HP?

I think the only reason no one could down PB even with 400% damage was because you only had one life with it. We still didn't have the capacity to take hits (most of us, anyway) at the time but now so many jobs have defensive buffs and debuffs to the point where it's scary what a fully buffed character can do, especially compared to where we were a few years ago.

@FanaticRat: So your suggestion for keeping the game from getting "too hard for the average player" is to let it remain broken for the top tier? Whatever happened to having a game that's not broken for anyone? On top of that, I don't know how long you've played GMS, but the "tier" situation you refer to has vastly changed over the past years. Back in the spring of 2007, it took, on average, a good, 6 person, competent party of 3rd jobbers to kill Papulatus successfully. It was practically unheard of for someone to solo the boss, and was widely regarded as a major accomplishment on cross-server forums.

Now, to use your own verbiage, anyone with average funding can solo the boss easily at levels below 125. And yet you claim the game is still noticeably hard enough for average players?

Scrolling, honestly, should have ended with 30/70 Dark Scrolls, and maybe even before that. When the system had only 10/60/100s to work with, it was ridiculously difficult to create perfect gear. Fast forward to these past few weeks, where average players were pumping out perfect attack weapons thanks to 50% scrolls that gave the same ATT boost as 10%s.

This game has gotten out of control. While all MMOs need to continuously update to keep the game fresh and interesting, I'll echo what so many more have said before: MapleStory's developers have no idea what they're doing.
