An Archer's "Where to Train" guide
#21
Trinity Wrote:k Im lvl 52.

Damage range is about 370-700

where should i be training? (i have maxed arrow bomb)
besides lmpq

Straw Target Dummies (map 1) or Zombie Lupin Forest II. I'd take the latter as its emptier. My friend at 4x was getting 4%/10 minutes there without 2x so its highly possible to do a level every 1.5 hours there if you do it right.

@ Carlos: Thanks for telling me its fixed. However, Im still not sure that its better than its alternatives for rain first builds. The only person Ive seen train there with rain first was iangelial and that was because they didnt have herb town. With pirates around, can they really be the better choice? I'll perhaps try finding an 8x archer to test it out some time x_X

Edit: The pictures exploded D: Be back on the 27th, lololo

Nice job with that Jackk (permission to call you that?). Even though it's directed at archers, lower leveled places mentioned here are great for to-be bandits, or any class. Big Grin

Course you can call me that xD And I understand that a lot of the lower level'd places are good for all classes (Ie. STDs, CPQ, etc) but some work better for a specific branch of archer than other classes.

For example, Monkey Forest II is best for archers because we're the only class that can hit 3 ledges at once (Iono, can I/L do that too? I know they can probably hit 2). Sure a bandit could go and 1hko them all, but it'd be slower than the hunter hitting them all at once. Another example would be Xbowmen at STDs where they can use iron arrow to hit a bunch of STDs because of Iron Arrow's Horizontal range.

Yes a lot of other classes can train in those areas but this is written specifically on how archers can train there if it makes sense =X I know there's a where to train for bandits already here so its probably better to look there xD

The guide seems sort of...unorganized to me, no offense. It just feels like it'd be easier to separate the classes (Hunter and Xbowman) than to clump them together. Plus the color coding has me lost, and constantly looking back up to see which color is which, while the old red and blue %/$ is pretty easy to remember.

Just a suggestion. Otherwise it's nice. xd

Thanks for the suggestion. I considered that way at first but in the end I found it easier to follow by color coding by level instead of separating levels by class (as some places are trainable for both and then there'd be redundant pictures, entries, etc). You're the first one to suggest that and I thank you for the suggestion. No one else has ever complained about the color coding being hard to read/remember. If anyone else has a problem with it/finds it easier to be separated by class, comment up! I dont mind and will welcome ideas on how to improve this guide =]

Retalion Wrote:Going up to 20 is definitely a possibility if you have the inventory space for it and have the inventory space for it. Note that even just going up to 15, you’ll have enough pots to last all of first job.

Just a little mistake in the EQ section. See bolded text. Big Grin

Ok before I start asking my questions lemme give you my info and stuffs.
lvl74 Ranger early AR build. AR is currently lvl7.
My range is 8xx-13xx(sorry don't know the exact numbers) and 9xx-15xx with a warrior elixir.

Now I have been training at Gyphons...and Im getting frustrated and bored.
I have been just killing the mobs next to the portals. But I've heard from some people that, that way is slow, and you should just be mobbing them all to the middle. So...I tried that..and got even more frustrated due to the fact that I kept falling..

Sooo I said to myself "You know what, Imma just go to Pirates..."
So I went to Pirates, but I found it..hard.
The exp felt worse then gryphons..and with, the amount of items they drop I was at a constant need to loot. Since by the end of my first hour there..I used 350, I really wanted to get some money back from training here.

Now that all thats out of the way..I ask.
With lvl7 Rain and my att range what place would be better to train at.
Gryphons or Pirates.

Also...a little more in-depth guide to train there.
The summary of your guide for both of them leave me in the dust for which one to choose.

Retalion Wrote:Hmmm, it seems to me that this place could be good for rangers with a low level'd rain and max bomb (of course you'd have maxed bomb): Bomb to hit <<<< while rain can be used to finish off the monsters that get below you. Its a good alternative from Red Nose Pirate Den 2, which in the early levels would just eat your pot money like no tomorrow... Any 72 ranger want to try this out for me? xD

(This was posted in other topic...I think Pirate Nose Den3 is the name)
I saaay..out of boredom I'll try it. Not today probably sometime this week once my training gets back on track.
Though Im not lvl72, I am quite close to it.

Gryphons annoyed me quite a bit too. I dont think I exactly mobbed to middle, but any time I saw 3-4 gryphons in a mob together, I would rain away. I also had 1 strafe to lure gryphons to me if need be. I do agree that it can get fustrating though.

At Red Nose Pirate Den II, a pet is almost a must. I notice that you have no nx on rankings so that could be a bit of a problem so perhaps you could try marketing in MTS for a bit and getting 10k to get a pet, meso magnet and item pouch (I think 10k would be enough). Then you dont have to worry about looting and can just concentrate on killing and whatnot (Just have your pet follow you on top and then go use it to sweep the bottom once in a while). Map 3 might be better for you as you're sniping for the most part, meaning you only use hp pots when you go to loot things, but with the mass amount of loot (and especially the case if you live far away from the server and loot slowly =X), you'll be slowing down your exp/hr pretty drastically still.

Yeah..I do buy nx but It just recently expired >.<
Hmmm, ok I should buy a pet asap.
Also...I am far...soo I think I'll just not loot until I get a pet.

Thanks Redface

Also, level 7 AR is a tad low. I personally recommend 9+ to kill effectively (Just 1 level =P)

Still, it should be better exp than Gryphs, as long as you don't loot.

Really? O_o I went Pirates with 4 rain and got waayy better exp than at gryphons, lol. Then again, I was always clocking lower exp/hr at gryphons than the dude in the rain first guide...

I'm a level 114 Ranger, and Newties are becoming boring. So much, in fact, that I will not log in for days knowing that my character is at Newties. Ugh. I know I'll be here for many more levels, but I'd like to stay away from them for now. I'm a middle/bottom attacker here, depending on the party.

I haven't seen a Squid party around for months, and I never really got used to having gobies fly everywhere in Goby parties. When I'm not slaving away at Newties, I'm soloing Gobies for ~5-6%/hr. (By the way, I don't understand how others are gaining massive amounts of mesos here. With the cost of Hawk, I'm not making much at all.)

I'm looking for a new training spot, hopefully one not too far from town, and relatively low pot burn. I have maxed Strafe, Rain and 29 Hawk. I have lvl 11 Inferno and 12 Puppet. My damage range could be considered low to average. I have auto-HP, but I have a tendency to die anyways at any monster that is constantly hitting me. If you have any training suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks =)

I'm hoping someone will respond quickly or at least soon before I get on... but I'm a level 78 Ranger who's going to activate a 2x EXP card when I get on. Should I simply stay at V/H for it? I wanna get to 79 tonight before it runs out (4 hour one).

Or should I go to another area that could be even potentially faster?

If you went strafe first, you can try black squids though if you arent used to monsters that 2hko you, you might die alot. For the safest bet, Hoodoo/voodoos would be best. If you went rain first, then Herb Town pirates are the way to go.

I am Strafe first and I have been to Squids before. I've became acquainted with the map and I have no problem with monsters that can kill me in 2 hits (been there, done that).

I just want to make sure that if I do go to Squids, that I'll be assured to level to 79 in four hours with the 2x EXP card. XD
