I hate every single Pikamemnon, Shroum, and Solarboy post.
For some odd reason, I do not like having arguments, or at least talk back in an argument.
I usually see most of these members' posts with their original names and avatar.

As for me...
Knowing Japanese does not constitute being a weaboo. This is why I never have and never will respect you or anyone else with the same idea.

Kevo Wrote:I think it's just a phase... eventually the desire to learn Japanese will be gone. Japanese is a terribly difficult language. I can barely understand any Japanese, and even with some knowledge in the characters it can be hard to make out the meaning of the entire sentence. Interest dies when you're learning it for the wrong reasons (USUALLY ANIME, MANGA, & VIDEOGAMES).
My interest nearly faded away, but luckily, it came springing back to life again.
Japanese isn't extremely difficult in my opinion. At least it is much more regular and structured than English. I'm also being realistic in my learning, knowing that it will take many years to obtain a native-like proficiency. I already had an article in my blog about this, so, yeah...
Truth:
I'm an optimistic realist with low-expectations. I'm also a perfectionist (that does not necessarily mean I'm well organized).
I'm optimistic because I am, but I keep low-expectations. I do that to keep myself from being disappointed if something doesn't fall through. and it works.
My theory is "Because [he] keep(s) low expectations, [he] is immune to disappointment"
I'm a realist in that I've told just about every body I know in a relationship that I highly doubt it's going to last (I'm in highschool). They always so "You're wrong! Were in love!". Couple moths later there is a big fat "I told you so."
I like tasks that I'm doing to be perfect. Since organization to me is a passive task, I don't really care for it. Active tasks only. When I', drawing a straight line I could be there for 1 minute getting one (consider that most people look and trace the ruler, I must look and look). Japanese is applying to this. I want to become as proficient as possible, but, my other traits play into this, which may be better, because anything I try to set goals for I get tired of quickly unless there is a long-term effect of completing/not completing it.
On a side note, I am very observant (of people and some general things) and I overthink situations. The previous is a new trait because when I was younger I would make posts without much thought. Now I rarely post anything without thought. I get ideas for (mainly polling) threads everyday, but there is a 1% chance I might actually make it.

I forgive and forget too easily.
But some things I never let go of, even if it's in my best interest to do so.

Leave me out of this, Rick. I'm just saying, in this thread of true honesty, that I am fluent in the Japanese language. That's all...

Edited my other (^) post, btw. Meh.
you're surprised that he's talking down about himself??? really???
something probably happened where he learned/or was accused of not knowing as much as he claimed and now he's being self-destructive as always and going WAAH NOPE I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING [I AM TRASH] (added the last part because that's what he usually does)
or he's just joking
not a doubt in my mind that he is minorly fluent though.
honestly.

Oh, no, Sarah, I'm aware he talks down about himself, he does it quite often! I was just more surprised that he doesn't know as much Japanese as he claims, I don't want to accuse him of anything, so I'll just leave it at that. He could be joking, because this is the internet afterall, and there are no rules that states "You must be serious on the internet".
For once, Shikage, I have my fingers crossed and hoping that you're not ___ing us all.

Also, can we stop talking about ShiKage's knowing or not knowing of Japanese?

So why are people interested in Japanese for a reason apart from Animes, Mangas, and Video Games?
Their culture? What do non-Japanese know about Japanese culture?
Only reason I can think of is for Business, and I kinda doubt this is the reason why younger people want to learn the language. The Chinese economy is barely behind Japan and there's just so much more out there in China than in Japan.

My name isn't Anthony. I keep my anime habits heavily closeted irl. To quote Truth "I conceal my power level". Speaking of Truth, I miss Truth. (I now half expect Spidey to come in saying "I am Truth" and no one is surprised)

No offense, but I'm sure you knew this sounded incredibly ignorant.
@Bolded
Some people do learn Japanese for the sole purpose of Anime and etc. Often times though, there japanese sucks and if they went to Japan they would sound like a U.S illegal immigrant who doesn't know much english and is working at McDonald's.
1. Japanese, the language itself, interests me.
2. Because I don't know their culture, I want to know more about. What better way to go and live in Japan itself. Realism intact though, I know everything that must be done before hand, learning Japanese is one of them. I dare not enter another non-english dominant country and not speak their language.
3. If I ever master Japanese, I want to learn Korean, then Mandarin.
4. I have little interest in China.
There are people, believe it or not, who are learning Japanese for reasons other than for Anime, Manga and Video Games. There are people who are actually interested in Japan as a whole.
I do like Anime and the such, but I am by no means obsessed by it. And, at least for me, it could not serve as motivation to learn Japanese.

Okay, whatever you say.
I just find what you said full of bs and hard to believe.
