What's your favourite programming language?

Lucida Wrote:If she had only been thinking of machine compiled languages, and only put those in the poll, that would've been valid too, and maybe she could've fit most of the reasonable options in then. But that's not the case; oh well.

She already acknowledged that.

Java runs on the JVM. It would be really insulted if it got left out because of that Sad

Just out of curiosity, how many people use XHTML/CSS, or ActionScript? Aside from using Visual Basic for utilitarian routines in Excel, those are the ones I tend to use every once in a while.

My friend lost his programming virginity on ActionScript. Can't say I've used it but it seems similar to JavaScript.

Thanks for your input, but I'm sure I never indicated that HTML was a programming language, I just was ascertaining who uses it on a regular basis. Another curiosity, since you brought it up, what would you classify HTML as? I only use these things for utilitarian purposes.

Mm, HTML is a markup language, hence the ML.

Thanks again for your response. I already had looked up that definition on Wikipedia many times before you linked it. I was asking for your opinion on it. I have everything I need to know, now.

Depends on what I'm doing. If its console programming you're after, C++ is superior by far. What really strikes me as odd is the fact that C# has a better GUI library. Window-based applications are always more appealing when made in C#.
