Meh. My parents have mixed feelings about it. My dad will walk in occasionally and make a comment along the lines of, "Youre still playing that gay ass mushroom game?" He looks down on me for playing it because I got tired of playing sports after I injured my leg; I spend a lot of my time playing MS that I'd otherwise be practicing for football.

I can't say I care too much for his opinion on the matter, but when I say something and he responds with, "You shouldn't be saying anything considering that you waste hours a day playing that stupid 'Maple Syrup" game," then I get irritated.

He's only bothered me about wasting money on NX a few times...so I guess that's good ._.

My parents don't really care.

My older brother and sister, however... They snuck onto my laptop and uninstalled MapleStory quite a few times (and made sure to look for the program that installs it) and blocked Nexon's website.

All that stopped about a year and a half ago though, for completely different reasons.

They always wonder how I never get sick of the game and don't mind if I get 20k NX like twice a year. I hardly get NX. Plus they were really involved with making my winning contest video (hence my dad being in it).

I turn 18 in 8 days. =]

Mum used to ask me who I play with, and I replied "My friends", which really was the case, and she was all annoying like that for a while. Now she's just like... that game again... meh. XD

This is the same exact case for me.

Sometimes, though, they get interested and start watching me play. Or, they decide to watch me play the JP version and ask me every two seconds what something says... >_>

Everyone in my family always joke me about playing and calls it the "Mushroom game," or say that I'm doing nothing but running around like Mario and wacking mushrooms all day long. lol

They even resorted to pointing out sexual inuendos about MapleStory, like how Shrooms look like tiny walking penises.

Edit : I'm 19.

My mom's like

"Claw, why are you still playing this 5 year old game?"

Then again, she thinks of excuses for other games too...

Left4Dead - "Claw, who're talking to on the internet?"

Starcraft - "Claw, your'e wasting your time. Go do something productive with your brain."

Call of Duty 5 on the Wii - "..."

She's actually pretty cool with Call of Duty...maybe since it's because I'm not in front of the computer when I'm playing it...

I wonder what'll she say when she discovers my sudden addiction to Pokemon again.

When my brothers and I go over to my mom's place for the weekend, she's just happy to have all her children back in one house again... even though we turn her living room into a LAN party.

She doesn't care what we play as long as she gets to cook us breakfast and ask us to do errands around the house.

Like many Asian parents, mine believe the computer should not be used for any games in general.

They always said I should studying and the extra time you have playing any game should be spent studying. It's not going to be torture to study more... get a job and then you can play all you want forever.

My mom think it's a cute game when she saw the characters.

One time my dad wanted try out Maple Story and got mad at it cause he "didn't do his homework", as in he didn't meet with the stat requirements he needed to become a thief.

EDIT: btw i was 16 at that time.

My mom blames the Friday nights I play D&D and the X hours of maplestory on why I am a lousy student.
I blame not going to class.
And a bit of maplestory. Glitter
