This has to do with editing the registry, correct?

Yes.
SlayerZach Wrote:All this does for me is make the game lag.. like.. a slight delay of 2-3 seconds (I press jump, for example, and I jump 2-3 seconds later).
Wouldn't be related.

Exactly how are you setting and unsetting it?

Would having a more powerful graphics card help as well?

By itself this did nothing. Combined with my method it makes the lag alot more choppy; Even the music gets choppy. I can't tell whether it's making it better or worse.

That's pretty odd considering all the music is played on your PC and has nothing to do with network connectivity at all.
Between the two I can wander through the FM on CH1 with out a spot of lag, but it might only work for me due to high RAM, dual core CPUs and a gigabit ethernet hub.

So, for those of us without Eos's setup... What's mostly safe and would work? Either of these? :f6:

That will reduce the number of times per second your own machine tries to reply back "acknowledging" the spam attack and adding to the lag. Part of the reason a spam attack DC's you is because your computer wastes all it's bandwidth on the spam and doesn't have enough leftover to reply to the real server traffic to keep the connection open.
Odd, I can't find that registry entry.

That's because you have to create the DWORD yourself in home versions of windows.

That's the easy way yes, I generally do:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libra...38219.aspx
for the specific adapter.
Just to be sure it's really working because the global can be ignored or overriden.
Probably should mention this too - http://www.speedguide.net/faq_in_q.php?qid=221

If hackshield is working properly task manager can't modify the permissions of the task.

Something about DC hacks you all might want to know is that no matter how many times they're patched theres always going to be a new one made.
