Item Guard Expiration Glitch
#21
@MasPan:

Why are you trying so hard to demerit me?

So what if I bought NX? Tons of Maplers do so daily. It's what keeps the server alive so that free players like you can play. Who are you to judge me based on whether I buy NX or not?

Also, why do you care how I spend my NX, as long as it's within the bounds of the ToS? I was under the impression that Nexon treats its paying customers better than it treats those who play the game for free. After all, isn't that how silverbg2 gets all his unbans?

@Dusk:

Why are you so sadistic? It's as though you wish to see someone's car blow up just because it's more expensive than yours. In addition, Alcolix didn't say he bought everything with money. He projected the total cost of the expiring equipments to be $5,000 USD (or 5 million NX) if they were still in their normal state and were sold in the MTS.

I have nothing against BUYING NX. However, trading NX for mesos or vice versa is against the ToS. Learn to read before getting defensive and rude.

Nice assumption you got there. Read over the statement again:
ShMaiz3R Wrote:I had just purchased a large sum NX in order to supplement my in-game mesos in order to buy what seemed to be this godly sword being sold for a cheap price
I neither mentioned how much I spent, nor how I used it.

I said that I bought a "large sum of NX", which could mean anywhere from 10 (the lowest amount on a nexon game card) to infinity (or however many cards a store could carry), depending on my own perception of what a "large sum" is. That's not for you to decide.

Also, I only said that I used the NX to supplement my in-game mesos in order to buy the sword. I could have done that in a variety of ways. I could have:
1) Purchased Cash Shop Surprises, which would have given me 1mil bags.
2) Purchased Gold or Silver bags from the cash shop.
3) Gacha'd at Mushroom Shrine or NLC and gained profit.
4) Use the MTS to convert to mesos.

Any of these listed items are legitimate uses for NX. You're trying to claim that I used a fifth option, and that was sell the NX directly by giving the code or gifting.

Tell me, how did you infer this from such an ambiguous statement? Even if left to probability, you'd only have a 20% chance of being right. Is it just because you want it to be that way so you can judge me based on such a trivial piece of data?

Please stop trolling my thread. The only way that my spending of NX is related to this thread is that it gives me more of a position in the eyes of a Nexon employee reading this essay, which by the way, is copy-and-pasted from the ticket I sent to Nexon.

The third of these phenomena is that when an expiring item is placed in a window typed user-interface, the expiration date vanishes temporarily until it leaves that interface. An example is when my sword is placed in the Legendary Spirit, the expiration date does not show up while it is in the Legendary Spirit. For this reason, I thought that perhaps using ViciousÂ’ Hammer would allow the item to become permanent once again. Unfortunately, I was wrong and I ended up wasting 4500 NX.

^-- doesnt that mean that in a shop window, you cannot see the item expiration?

I'm not entirely sure in how many ways this statement can be inferred. If you wouldn't mind elaborating on this fact, please do so before sparring with criticism. If you either are clean or lie to appear clean (which I don't see a point for), there is no need for MasPan's comment, though it cannot be reverted.
If you, however, did attempt illegitimate measures to purchase said item, allow me to reiterate the point.

MasPan Wrote:Suddenly, I have no sympathy for you. Buying things with NX is against ToS. I don't know how I missed this the first time...

Winry Wrote:^-- doesnt that mean that in a shop window, you cannot see the item expiration?

Nope. The Expiration Date/Time shows clearly on the item's description when placed in a shop. There's an ss somewhere if you'd like me to dig out.

Well if you use the vague words "large sum", you can't be surprised people interpret it, and to the vast majority, a large sum is not 10 or even 30k nx.
The way you formulated yourself, I would'nt call MasPan's interpretation all that far fetched. Just clarify yourself without sounding arrogant, and it all works out fine.

If you read, I stated that BECAUSE your statement was ambiguous, I assumed the easiest thing for you to have done. And i stated I would apologize if wrong. However, given your attitude, I don't feel an apology is necessary. I also never commented on the "large sum." Also, spending money does NOT raise or lower your opinion in Nexon's eyes. I've personally reported and seen perma-banned 11 hackers that had pets, loot gear on their pets, fully nx'd outfits, etc BEFORE the MTS was implemented. I won't be commenting in your threads anymore. Good luck with your tickets and your horribly mistaken views of how Nexon operates.

Fixed.

Ya'll are drama llamas.
So what if he bought/sold NX?
There have been many others that have done so in the past. I'm not saying I'm for it, I'm just saying that it's not a big deal.

Does it concern you?
No.

@ Kalovale

If I had used illegal methods to purchase items, would I still have a case to argue?

Also, what do most Mapler's do for profit?
1) Gach
2) MTS

Is it that hard to figure out? Tongue
I'm not trying to sound arrogant, but I'm annoyed that the first criticism I find here is an ad hominem.

@MasPan

You shouldn't have made the assumption in the first place. Is it too hard to ask? Or do you have to insult people before finding the truth?

Do explain how silverbg2 gets so many benefits if spending money doesn't affect in any way raise or lower Nexon's opinion of people.

would using another item lock prevent it from expiring?

If it would, I wouldn't have written this ticket. I already tried it and it doesn't work. Nexon has to lock it manually during a server check.

I'm not asking for assumptions on how you could have done it, thank you for your troubles, I, or anyone for that matter, can do that on our own. What we all need elaboration on is how you actually did it. Therefore:

ShMaiz3R Wrote:If I had used illegal methods to purchase items, would I still have a case to argue?
Apparently no, therefore I suggested that as the solution to this unnecessary drama llama war. If you had used illegitimate methods, end of conflict; if you had not, end of conflict. Is it that hard to figure out? I think not.

Ah well, I assume (yes, again, assume) that you didn't do any 'wrong' and MasPan jumped to conclusion and all this is none of my business because I accused nothing of either of you.

Well, if he's posting here to warn us all about the danger, I would appreciate it.
But regardless, I have my rights to judge whether or not it is worth giving sympathy to, do I not? I personally don't, though. MasPan did. It just feels funny to see you guys argue over something not at all relevant.

Tell me why it's so important that you "need" to know, because:
1) It's irrelevant to the thread. It's tangential at best.
2) Why should you care?

But then again, as you said, it's not your argument. Let's just drop the subject about NX because that's not the main point. Wink

Because it is the reason that started all this pomegranate. Had you done this in the post responding to criticism with so-deemed ad hominem, there wouldn't have been all these heated debates on who among us is the true idiot.
It also is the simplest way to end the undesired conflict, did I not rest my case?

EDIT: I do feel sorry for your loss. No.. I lied. I do hope you'll be more observant in the future so as not to repeat such a loss. Wish you the best.

Are you kidding me?

This dude posts a whole, huge rant about something that he spent his hard-earned meso on and got screwed over, and you people hit on his NX buying habits? I would not care if this guy was the ultimate packet editing, wz editing, meso buying hacker that has DC'd and stolen 3,000++ accounts. Nexon should never penalize users for using one of their legitimate services.

Granted, it was probably stupid to buy it without noticing the expiration tag, but who honestly looks for expiration tags on items that shouldn't have it? And whether this guy was in the right to buy it or he should have noticed the expiration date or he shoulda woulda coulda is sidestepping the actual issue - Nexon screwed up by offering a service that hurt its own users and is offering no compensation or repair. This issue has been posted on Nexon's forums and Sleepywood, and I have yet to see anything done with this issue while people lose their hard-earned dollars and items.

It's been said that the squeaky wheel gets oiled, and apparently Nexon doesn't want a finely tuned car because upkeep costs money. Sad.

[color="#cc8899"]People who buy nx with mesos happen to be one my buttons. Any comment I had regarding Nexon's treatment of the expiring items glitch has already been discussed several times in several threads, so it was really the only thing I had to say on the matter. Anyways, I apologize for my earlier assumptions. Good luck in your immediate future.

Also, you're welcome, though I didn't do what I did for you, but for others in your situation who I am sympathetic to.

None of this is anyone's business except the TS, so why should anyone give a flying f'uck about item locks in general?

After this happened to harrison, why would anyone buy them? Why would anyone want them removed? Furthermore, why should we, the ones who actually know what's going on, care about losses? "Oh, that's a shame, nexon's CS sucks like we always knew from the beginning." We already got the point. Item locks are retarded and anyone who bought them in the first place is retarded.
