Great Endings

Escaflowne: April 2, 1996 – September 24, 1996

I believe this was the first anime series I grasped my hands on, and I got it as a birthday present from my father. This was many years ago, I can't recall my exact age, but I loved watching this. I must have watched the entire thing over at least 3 times. The ending still makes me feel a bit nostalgic every time I search it up on YouTube. Some of the anime I've enjoyed were stuff such as Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Evangelion, etc. I'd like to use the term mechas, but that's inappropriate. I enjoyed Escaflowne the most because it's such an old anime, yet even without the fancy artwork or effects like the more recent anime these days, it still portrays some sort of message to the viewers.

They focused too much on Fuuka, for the real relevance of the character and not enough on the other girls. Especially Kotomi.

Season 2's ending could have been better but at least he made a damn choice instead of pussyfooting around like every other god damned main character.

Just finished Toradora today and I gotta say, that was a scary ending there. I thought Taiga was just going to walk out on everybody's lives just when she just finally found happiness but I liked what they did - it really made sense with the plot and her development to being a better person in the series.

But I was fine with seson 2's ending. Hecate and her goon escaping was eh but after/during the ending credits, they showed Kazumi and Shana waiting for Yuji to pick one of them. They showed a clip of Kazumi waiting then a clip of Shana waiting and Shana's face brightened up. It's subtle (so they can squeeze in another pointless season) but it was obvious enough that Yuji went with Shana. Also, Shakugan no Shana S was a big hint that Yuji picked Shana too - episode one showed their bond was strong enough to switch consciousness and episode two showed Shana getting Wilhelmina to approve Yuji as a potential "in-law".

As far as I'm concerned, Shana did end and end well. Whatever happens next with Hecate in season three is just going to be a pointless excuse to draw out the series.

Despite liking the series, I disliked Rozen Maiden's "ending".

Deus ex machina for the lose. Though from what I understood, there was a little "problem" (lolstrike) with the writing department which was why it ended after season 2?

I think that is my biggest gripe with them. They just wouldn't stop kinda like what's happening Nanoha. I completely agree with you though, I think the ending was decent.

Another great ending had to come from Excel Saga. I don't know how many people have actually watched this show in it's entirety, but those who have know what I'm talking about. The whole series is just crazy and zany, but the last episode, rightfully named "Going too far," is hillarious! If you haven't watched this show, go watch it now. The ending may not wrap everything up, but they did take the show out with a bang!
