This makes so little sense. How could you use a crack between dimensions to travel... through time?
And just look at this thing:
That's a... piece of cracked dimension? What's that supposed to mean anyway? :f6:

Well, you see the time sphere warp into Papulatus at the start of a battle. It could be at the pap room, the two dimensions are only seperated by that little wall, and when a hole appeared in it, Pap was able to pass through it by turning into some sort of energy, which is why it forms out of the time sphere.

He used A CRACK in the DIMENSION. Not the piece of cracked dimension. If that's not what you meant, then I read it wrong.

The 2nd part of my post was basically separate.
That still doesn't make sense though. That's like saying "I used a time machine to teleport myself to the moon."

How? Think of the crack as a dimensional rift. You go through one side of the rift in one dimension, and you come out in another dimension.

You're thinking too literally here. It's not physical things. This is sort of hard to explain but i'll try.
The Power Source for Ludibrium is the Time Sphere. Don't know/care how it generates energy, but basically it's drawing power from somewhere and it started malfunctioning. When it starts malfunctioning, it ends up ripping a hole between the dimensions in an event referred to in the Monster Book as the "Dimensional Schism". This causes a lot of trouble in both dimensions - Alishar, who is supposed to protect the border, ends up trapped over here; Papulatus brings the time component in with his experiments on travelling back in time. This causes monsters like Spirit Viking and Ghost Pirate to be pulled up from the past of the other dimension, and they are simply confused and scared victims of this event as well. Some of the other monsters in Deep Ludi were once clocktower maintenance workers who were transformed by radiation, while Phantom Watches were prisoners equally affected. The effects of this event reach far out from Ludi, though; they brought the books in Helios Library to life, changing KFT and may have been the source that drew the Grays to Omega Sector.
Basically, the whole set of quests in Ludi is aimed at repairing the crack in the dimensional border, stopping the effects of the Dimensional Schism, and setting things right in Ludus Lake.

now there's a authentic Dr.Who fan
A crack in the space time continuum can be thought as a wormhole that connects spatial 2 different places, either in 3 dimensions or 4 (time).

I wasn't around ms at the time, but did LPQ come out before pap? If pap didn't even exist at the time of LPQ, and yet pap was still mentioned in the PQ, then it means things that are only mentioned in text only can still be added to the game. Sort of like the Dark Magician. (Though we knew he was coming because he was all over maple quests. Even people who lost track of the story knew his name.) So the other dimension isn't out of the question, just like Versal isn't out of the question yet. At least, that's the feeling I get. Nexon can go anywhere with this game because they left it open. And they aren't afraid to create bad excuses for a new storyline if they need to.
Same goes for the time travel part. Maybe Nexon is even hoping we pick up on the hint of future/past ludi, or future/past of the other dimension?

LPQ came out long before pap. They never mentioned the name, but the NPCs hinted that it wasn't Alishar's fault he got stuck here.

When you put it that way, it actually sounds really... epic.
Eh, I'm confusing dimensions and universes or something.

This story line also supports traveling to the other dimension. The NPCs in game confirm that Pap keeps breaking through, other wise we wouldn't keep getting the ETC to summon pap from them. What better to stop someone from breaking through than going on the offense against them?

Yeah, the 4th job stories said that Ludus lake is the lake where time stopped.
And you are wrong about the grays.. ive been a big fan of omegas chain quests and it is said, mateons and grays are seeking refuge on earth(maple version, lol) because their planet, Zeta leticulan is poisoned/polluted.

all I'm saying is, it's not a coincidence that one island is super advanced technology and the other is old timey folk village.

This is on topic, but not really contibuting to the conversation, but i found the quest for time leap very very interesting. I dont usually read quest things outside of job advancement things, and im glad i read (and screenshotted) the quest dialogue for that. Its really interesting how a boss that you try to kill is what gives you a skill (so in essence, its like receiving aid from the enemy, which is kinda an awkward twist. It actually shocked me, and im very very rarely shocked in maple in a pleasant way.)

Yeah so you enter Elin Forest from Ludi for that reason, right? since it mentioned "Broken Gate of Time" so I guess it was part of the Time Sphere malfunctioning which accidently opened the gate to the past?
Anyway, other dimension. What further explination you want about it? the title explains it self, there is basically another dimension out there.

L>a new area - the dimension where pink bean came from with a quest to help it return. (by killing it)
i'm allso pretty sure nexon would add Versal to masteria some day, maybe even connect the black magician to that.
anyway, i hope we'll get some more storyline about him, because there are too many quests related to him and what he did, and allmost no info.
