HAHAHA YOU'RE FUNNY.

Madoka: Not a completely unexpected ending, but I was hoping for a YOU CAN'T CHANGE WHO YOU ARE YOU CAN'T CHANGE DESTINY ending.

C 02: Damn this show is amazing. The main character is slightly smarter than most, but still does the retarded "ARE YOU OKAY?!?!?" when the person they're asking is being faceraped.

Ano Hana 02: Calling it here. Yukiatsu killed her. pineapple that was creepy. Second favourite show this season behind C.

Hidan no Aria 02: Standard Kugimiya Rie hijinks still. Hoping for some good action scenes, but I won't expect too much.

A Channel 03: Creepy teacher is creepy.

I NEED MORE TIME

Pick for me what to watch next please:
Ao no Exorcist 01
Astarotte 02
Maria+Holic Alive 02
Softeni 02
Denpa Onna 02
Steins;Gate 03

Ao no Exorcist is the only one of those I watched, and it had a strong first episode.

Also, started Ano Hana and really loving it.

Yeah, because I didn't know about it when I started the series. Honestly, I never looked-up anything about the series. That explains the demotivationals a lot.

@shouri: I've heard mixed reviews on it. Some people say it's watchable, but not that good. Some said it's adequate. Avg score on MyAnimeList was a 7-ish. So that just shows me it's probably stomach-able, though not great in terms of character development or . . . plot.

It's rather short... they could've done a better job with more episodes... but 24/26 might be too much, and who's heard of a 15/16 episode anime? (inb4 list of 15/16 episode animes).

The main reason I watched it the whole way through was because people on TvTropes recommended it. The first 5 episodes where kinda meh. But since it was recommended I figured I might as well.

Honestly, this serious isn't groundbreaking by any means. It's not a huge hit or anything, but among the lesser hyped anime, this is rather decent.

15/16 episodes is a half-season. It's perfectly normal, and it's usually just to test the waters before they bring in a second season (or very rarely, a remake) which would have the full 24~28 episodes. Sort of like how manga usually have a one-shot published before the actual series is published. Once again, it is by no means abnormal.

REC is an example of an abnormally short anime, with only 9 episodes and each episode being only about 12 minutes long (half the normal duration).

Khoi Wrote:Also tried to re-pick up The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Protagonist has an okay personality, sorta reminds me of Yuuichi from Kanon a bit. Not sure if it's the voice or if it's just the personality, though the voice actors are obviously different. Just the tone of his voice was similar. Pretty overly hyped series though, it's not bad, but it's not good either. It was pretty watchable, but I didn't feel like watching a Slice-of-Life series in which

Meh. 5/10 for that. Dropped right after episode 9, while watching in chronological order.

Go watch the movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. At almost 3 hours long, you should enjoy it. Hell, it might even make you watch the rest of the series.

Really though, some people would suggest only watching a select number of the episodes, and also watching them in chronological order rather than release order helped. Definitely wont be watching more than one or two of the Endless Eight episodes if I rewatch it again. But, there is a slight possibility for new material so I might even watch it fully.

I kinda figured 12-13 episodes was a season...

52 weeks (ish) in a year & 4 seasons - > 13 weeks each * 1 episode per week = 13 episodes max if it's gonna be a 1 season anime. Maybe 12.

That's why I say that 15/16 would be awkward.

And as for that second part, I'm not saying that this is short for an anime.

I was saying 12/13 episodes is normal for a season, but chaos;head felt like it needed about 15/16 episodes maybe to get in what it needed without some of the later parts feeling rushed. If they dragged it out to 2 seasons, it would be a bit too much unless they added in more stuff from the VN... which would end them up in probably the same situation of having to rush a bit to the ending due to episode constraints. You know... attempting to stay with the seasonal showings of anime. Not arguing anything else past that.

Softenni - 2 - Some funny bits, some not so funny bits. Might drop it if episode 3 doesnt hit my interests, which wouldnt be bad if I dropped it, cause im looking at 18 things to watch to stay caught up at the moment >_>

Hidan no Aria - 2 - Like this show more in the first episode, kinda slacked in this one, but I still expect something good. Shoulda names Hysteria Mode Hentai Mode instead. Woulda been funny.

30-sai no Hoken Taiiku - 3 - God I love this show for being funny and interesting in small bites. Also love how the ending animation is the two of them growing older with each episode.

Most VN adaptations are mediocre at best anyways, so not like most people should ever expect an amazing story or anything. I think the only VN adaptation that was more than a 'season' was Clannad? If you don't count in After Story, then the original series was well over 20 episodes iirc. Then again, some people also dislike Clannad because it's just a typical Slice-of-Life comedy-drama. Then again, nothing can be as bad as Yosuga no Sora. Nothing. NOTHING.

The only 15/16 episode animes that I remember watching are Bakemonogatari, Baccano, and Senkou no Night Raid. However, all of these shows went on for one season on TV and had their last few episodes released later.

*Looks at avatar and sig* I think the new version of Kanon was more than 20 episodes too.

Deadman Wonderland 2: How can they possibly have enough prisoners to be able to kill off so many in one event? Not to mention only one out of all of them is supposed to get the money they need to survive... for three more days.

Nichijou 4: I loved the way they depicted being distracted in class while taking a test.

Hanasaku Iroha 4: This show has such random cliffhanger endings. First, Ohana is about to be attacked by a pervert, now a blue heron.

Tiger and Bunny 4: Great episode about Blue Rose. I hope the stories of all the other heroes have this much depth.

Ao no Exorcist 2:
Yes. I like this show. Seems like it might turn into some sort of school slice-of-life meets Soul Eater for exorcists for most of the duration though. I don't know why, but I'm liking the trend of one or two commercials slipping in to HorribleSubs releases. They're silly. Also, 15 second FMA:B movie preview.

Hanasaku 4:
Ha, I liked the class introduction. Odd cliffhanger indeed. This show feels a lot less forced than some of its genre counterparts. Not sure how it accomplishes that.

Deadman Wonderland 1 - 2 - The protagonist's voice annoys me. Anime's ok so far though.

Haseo Wrote:Currently waiting for Fate/Zero. Madoka was great, but I want to see Zero Berserker throwing Gilgamesh's swords back at him.

I just want to see Kotomine trolling everyone and everything that enters his line of sight.

Yeah, most half-season shows are 12 or 13 episodes (if they're on noitaminA they're 11 episodes).

Kanon 2006 was 24 episodes.

And um... off the top of my head, another VN adaption with multiple seasons would be Koihime Musou. Though IIRC the later seasons may be based on the sequels to the game... I've never seen or played it so I'm not exactly sure.

Yup. There are minor exceptions where some adaptations are longer than 12 (or 13) episodes, but the original Kanon had way less than 20 episodes anyways. The remake just expanded more upon that to have things make more sense. But like I said before, it's not like I'm going to be expecting much out of an adaptation. I really like Kanon because of the background music and it's protagonist. Other than that, most of Key's stuff was an okay watch. I think the only thing I didn't enjoy as much was Angel Beats. I still need to pick that up and watch it from beginning to end, plan on doing so some time this Summer. There were things I may have disliked before, but want to try picking up again due to curiosity or because I may have given it a harsh judgment before.

Another VN adaptation that was more than 12 = Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, but that was mostly baw baw baw drama insert more baw-fest.

PS: Nostalgia-f`ag time. Apparently, Shaft made 12 Senshi Bakuretsu Eto Ranger. Mind blown. Watched the entire thing when I was 6 years old. 22 now. Maaan, I feel old.

Dog Days - 4 - Was waiting for "im sorry, but your princess is in another castle" joke.

GoSick - 14 - Dont cry Victorique, dont cry FrownFrown Annnnnnnd, we should change Glitter to this;

C - 2 - Definetly a good show. I also like the spread out use of english, its a nice break. But.... what in the hell is Johnny Depp doing in this anime?!?!

Ao no Exorcist - 2 - Ok, im hooked.

Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko - 2 - Oh Erio, you are awesome. This show is awesome. Liking the end song too.

Deadman Wonderland 01 & 02: Pretty damn awesome show, but I'm getting tired of Hanazawa Kana playing stupid girl characters. I still can't get enough of her voice though.

Ao no Exorcist 01 & 02: Amazing. Can't wait for more.

Maria+Holic Alive 02: Lawl @ Infinite Stratos reference.

Not enough hours in a day. Well. Even if there were, I wouldn't use them aptly.

Ohoho. You'll see just how "stupid" Shiro is later on (probably in a second season).

Assuming they keep the same VA, it's gonna get pretty damn awesome.

Readers of the manga (up to the "DW Infiltration" arc) should know what I mean.

Ao no Exorcist eps. 1 & 2 - Awesome. Glitter

Nichijou eps. 1 through 4 - Hilarious. Cool

Deadman Wonderland eps. 1 & 2 - Cool. Shine

I think those will be the main three I'll be watching for this season.

Keep in mind that Key as a whole wasn't really involved with Angel Beats, though Jun Maeda certainly was. I personally loved it, but it does have its share of problems and I'm not sure how well it'll hold up when you're watching all the episodes together.
