Pogey King of the Hill
This thread is further proof that tourney f'aggots ruin EVERYTHING.

I had a good read.

Pidgey

It says mostly by type, but it still has to be capable of doing something. Caterpie can't touch Darkrai unless it's completely immobilized.

I still 1/2 way agree with dusk tho, we should also forbid Arceus since he doesnt really have a type.

Good fucking lord. I agree with Mark; tourney kids ruin everything. Dusk, you even copied the original post description into your response. The thread is supposed to be mostly by type. We're not sitting here debating the feasibility of certain Pogeys defeating others, but merely playing the type match-up game using Pogey types. I don't disagree with you: in essentially every instance known, a Darkrai will always defeat a Caterpie. But when we're looking solely at types, just ignore the in-depth reality of Pogey differences affecting the outcome of a battle, except for, ONLY, the type.

And Pikamemnon, this is your thread. Do what you want, but make it more clear in the original post if we're taking into account the feasibility of Pogey matches and their ability to override type-matchups, because last I understood these past 17 pages have been spent doing exactly what I outlined above, what it appeared you meant with you first post. I guess we're all doing it wrong? /sarcasm.

Oh, and using the Caterpie card is a crappy excuse for allowing Darkrai to defeat a Caterpie, in that Bug-types (and many others) don't exist in the iTCG. But that's assuming we're discussing vidya mechanic type-matchups....are we? Or are we looking at the iTCG, in which case, again, many type-matchups in this thread are incorrect?

Bottom line: your initial post is extremely enigmatic and misleading. Are we discussing type-matchups alone, and if so, those that exist solely in the video games or in the iTCG? Or are we discussing the feasibility of individual Pogey matchups based on all factors that can contribute to the most favorable outcome? Let's make some decisions here, people.

Assuming the thread is based solely on vidya type-matchups, I'll respond to Ceddy's response by saying either Macargo or Alakazam.

^Obviously we're just interpreting the OP differently. I'm not tourneypapayaging this thread up; you don't have to be a tourneypapaya to know that Caterpie loses to Darkrai. It didn't even learn any bug type moves until Platinum.

Why should it just be a type matchup? We exhausted all the types over a dozen pages ago.

Anyway, Vaporeon to counter Gyarados.

Edit: almost forgot, Video game types, not the iTCG, those are a mess.

Of course we exhausted the type matchups pages ago. That's why this thread surprised me in the first place. Either it's reiterating a table anyone who has really played Pokemon has memorized, or it's pointless because of counters like the one you just gave. Any Pokemon can be engineered to defeat a specific Pokemon, so technically any Pokemon would be an adequate response to this thread (with the exception of NFE's, like Caterpie, considering they're so subpar on stats), and if all is fails you just throw in Arceus with the appropriate plate.

In conclusion, thread sucks. Ex: I'll counter your Vaporeon with Infernape. Check it TM22, your ass has been Solarbeam'd.
