Well I expected Discord to reform back to good (for the most part). I will see people complaining about their head-canon of Discord, but I don't really see him as truly evil, he just wanted to cause chaos and doesn't take consideration of how other people feel about his behavior.

The ending kinda felt rushed though. If it was longer, we could see more Fluttershy and Discord bonding, making Discord's realization more believable to me, but I really don't buy it.

A really good and fun episode though, minus the ending. It almost made this my favorite episode of Season 3 so far.

Episode was a rather fun watch. Ending was somewhat rushed, but it does help though that Discord isn't 100% evil. That he does... have a heart. The ride though was great though. Pretty much Grade A patented Discord trolling. Also amusing that Discord apparently never had a friend until now. MLP trying to attack me in the feels. Also Fluttershy x Discord. Dohoho let the fanfics leave the shipping docs en mass. But then no implications of Discord x Celestia. At least it's not actually denied though.

Neither do I completely buy it either. It's only reforming, not actually on the good side yet. One bad incident and he'll probably snap back to screwing with the world.

First, my review.

To put it bluntly, whenever discord spoke, I was compelled to play Tombstone's Remix..I couldn't help it. I'm sorry. /failedyouall

MOVING ALONG...
So the episode in a nutshell seemed really well paced...however in the end, a lot of questions were still left unanswered.
-What will discord's power be used for exactly? Something Season 4 Related...perhaps? Or maybe something related to the finale...beats me.
-Did Discord had any friends to begin with?
-Does this mean that there's like a Dragonqu-thingy race?
-If Fluttershy is the only one who doesn't really judge people by initial appearance, shouldn't the over five really take a even greater lesson from her? (Especially Gilda and Trixie.)
-Why bring back discord now?!

Alright, enough questions.

John Delanc-I mean, Q, no wait, Discord, still has it with all the gag humor and finally showing ANGEL, THAT LITTLE PRICK OF A BUNNY, a lesson.
Also I'm really surprised the character with pretty much the least needed person that needs Character Development (and we all know Classic LOVES that.) manages to break down Discord and find the true root of his...well, discord.

LIST OF CHARACTERS THAT NEED DEVELOPMENT.
1.Rarity-BADLY. She still seems like a stuck-up person, despite the fact she's more sisterly towards her sister. I don't care, GIVE HER A EPISODE NEXT SEASON. I'M FINE WITH HER NOT GETTING ONE THIS SEASON, BUT PLEASE.

2.Twilight-She needs to get away from her snoody-by-the-book ways.

3.Applejack-Apple Family Reunion didn't help. Though, it goes to show her family is a bunch of workaholics.

4.Rainbow Dash-Not being biased, we can't change her. It's just who she is.

5.Fluttershy-...Seriously. How many episodes so far?

Season 3 Episode 11 Just for Sidekicks

I liked how the episode title is pretty much an allusion on who it'll focus on this episode, and is also a nice little pun.

As for Spike, the only thing was I couldn't stop noticing he'd eat the gems so subconsciously. But then again it lead to a large episode of shenanigans with him and the pets. Angel is best troll, and Rainbow Dash + Tank is just adorable. I had a small feeling that Spike was going to lose the gems one by one. I found it funny that the little gem Rarity gave Spike would buy the CMCs so much. Rarity may have given the smallest gem, but hell if it wasn't valuable. CMCs as usual are full of cute, especially Sweetie Belle. I saw a lot of cameos of previous characters, which always amuses me. As for the end, it felt rather natural, or at least, it wasn't rushed. I'd call this one of the simpler, probably simplest episode of the season, and it manages to make that simplicity work out very well. Poor Spike, gives in to greed, and bad luck follows him like a rain cloud.

As standalone: 8.5/10 from me. Not so much awesome, but many cameos, especially the pets. Also the fact it's a simple yet effective episode.
When you realize it ties into the finale: I'd say ~9.25/10 or so.

NEXT EPISODE: TWO WEEKS FROM NOW, EVERYPONY. SO YOU MAY SLEEP IN NEXT SATURDAY.

Basically, I find it bland, Spike gave into greed but let his glutton get to him so he would do anything, even going as far as going out of his comfort zone just to get a freaking Gem, when he CAN JUST GO AND FIND SOME OUTSIDE PONYVILLE.
...I'll give it mercy since it's a omnibus.
