GMS Server Status Discussion - 2013-07-30

So, whenever I go to fight monsters, I end up disconnecting after only a few minutes, but if I'm in a city, I have no issues (hell, one of my characters has been AFK in leafre for over 8 hours now). Does this sounds like the issues other people have been having?

when you DC fighting mobs it's not like a normal crash, right? It's.. weird. Only the monsters lag and the DC is where the background gets all glitchy and shifts frames awkwardly before booting you to login screen?

Any idea for what's causing it? What are your computer specs? (Laptop/desktop, ram, OS, graphics, processor, etc)
Antivirus/firewall program? Internet connection?

I want to compare to what I have. I'll edit this with my specs as whatnot once I'm actually on my laptop.

Desktop, 8 gigs of ram. windows 7, currently having trouble finding the graphics card information, AMD athlom II 4x 650, apparently no antivirus (how the hell did that slip by me? Looks like I know what I'm getting with my next paycheck), windows default firewall (and on), and I'm connecting to the internet through wifi (currently working on finding out my exact internet speed).

What's your internet provider? This is Verizon FIOS here, wireless connection. Might try a direct connection to the modem in a bit.

My specs:
Windows 8 64-bit (Laptop - Sager)
Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
16.0 GB RAM

Intel HD Graphics 4000 (integrated)
AMD Radeon HD 7970M

Now that I'm looking up about switchable graphics cards the AMD might not even be in use? Gonna mess around with that and try to make that the default graphics card. idk computers I hope I don't break anything

edit: just tried wired connection and it didn't help
edit2: bandwidth sent spikes when I start lagging in game
edit3: I'm fine at bosses. I did Magnus without lag and PB was fine until he summoned his minibeans; immediately lagged and crashed after ~30s. Guess it has to do with the number of mobs in map?

Scania's channels have been crashing left and right since the maintenance.

There IS a map crash with a certain class out at the moment, so take what you will from that.

I had no trouble all day until just after you came on. Now I keep getting channel crashes and disconnects. You just had bad timing, my darling.

Crashed like 5 minutes ago or so and it's saying my ID is still logged in.

Ch 1 renegades just went boom and I'm laggy as hell on ch 2

I hate to say this, but I feel fortunate that this is not the afk-for-ring week.

This is getting worse. Disconnecting and getting stuck every 30 min or so.

However, the bright side is that I bough my guild potion level from 4 to 10 and the crash somehow rolledback my money so it's like I didn't spend a dime.

Finally got back on and... disconnected again.
