While trying to explain what motivates these hacker kids from Khaini and what goals they have, he admitted to be a hacker and linked to hacking sites. he also made multiposts, several times.

Why does this thread seem to have so many accidental double posts? Or I am just not noticing it in other threads?

I am playing from Sweden, Elsword NA is actually letting most of Europe play. Gameforge is working on a UK server though to go along with their French and German ones. It will of course fail miserably, like every other EU based mmorpg.

People act like this is the end of maple. This hack doesn't even affect anyone. The familiar hack is more serious.

Familiar Hack right now is NOTHING compared to those equips lol. So yeah not sure if you are trolling or just stupid. Not to be rude but seriously those equips.... Either Nexon deletes the equips or you might as well rank GMS as an offical private server.

Also, here's some predictions on what will happen:
-Nexon doesn't do anything about familiar hack until the events are over around the end of January
-Dotcurrency and the rest of SFC are hacked by the database leak "hd 6-2 shop cheap gogogo" guys
-Nexon fixes familiar hack, bans SFC/dotccc and whatever they had with them was removed, dippomegranate leak hackers keep the 255 atk crap
-New hacking team dupes the living pomegranate out of the gear
-255 atk gear, 5b each for every slot, by around March.

Nexon knows how to run an MMO. Look how fast they take the game down when there's an meso exploit. Those of you who say Nexon should take the game down while they figure this out have no idea how to run a game. Taking the game down affects EVERYONE. Some hackers holding ill-gotten items, while having insane stats, affects no one.

He didn't give any information about how this hack is done (other than that it involves Golden Hammers, which everyone already knows), and his attempts to link to the hacking site were blocked by the automatic filter.
He did give some interesting information about the history of the hack (just in case anyone thought a few days' rollback would cure it), and about the hackers' strategies.
One piece of information in particular I find important to note: seems the hackers have kept some items unscrolled, but with scores of slots. These items would escape any sweep Nexon does for "too high stat" items, and then be scrolled to absurdity and duped again. Presumably this is common knowledge on the hacking site, but it seems Nexon never looks there.

Another piece of information I am rather glad to see re-hidden, because I have zero sympathy for anyone who'd buy hacked gear.

I have to disagree with you about the effect of more godly/duped equips coming into the market being a good thing. My Mercedes is 164. I've full the full weight of every I have in funding from several 4th job characters of mine onto this character, spent almost 2bill in skill books, and I've only passed ONE so far. The only substantial thing I have left worth any value is my perfectly scrolled crossbow from several previous characters ago that I made myself. Everyday it gets more cheap and harder to sell. Everyday it ends up being worth fewer and fewer skill books, which is the only reason I've been trying to sell it for two weeks. So I quit. I'm not going to invest NX in a stupid game like this, and my character isn't strong enough for Czak or HT to make some real money. Sure, I could probably "farm coins" but I'm not just gonna pomegranate around while a bunch of losers we all know Nexon won't ban pass me in the ranks. :/

No, this is definitely not a good thing. This isn't even a neutral thing, it's very very bad. Taking the game down to FIX a ridiculously broken fault is a good idea, regardless of whether or not you're forced to take a very short break from playing. I don't think they'll take the game down, but if they have to, they should.

You don't understand how it indirectly affects the community. Yes everything is cheaper, but that makes it a buyers market. Maplestory is a game about refreshing the community to constantly bring new players in, based on that business model it should be a sellers market. Making money is hardly possible without the use of time or NX.

It isn't about who it effects.. It isn't fair on people who actually WORKED for their equips only for some hacker to come along and make something that is completely unavailable using legitimate methods..

Also bossing? I was from a big world before demethos and HT was a pain (i heard it is worse now) because everyone wants to get on that list whilst average funded players will either get DC hacked or not get on the list at all. It will pretty much kill off the point of bossing in a party/group..

How do players get mesos in the first place? Selling items they have/find. The more hackers flood the market, the less possible it is for players to find valuable items through legit methods. Prices go down on items players have as well as items hackers are selling.

It's good for the hackers because they get rich, it can also be good for the merchants who know prices better than hackers do - it's not good for the average player.

So you are one of those people who would buy these equips and claim you're legit. I see.

I never was the biggest fan of the witch-hunt mentality.

Not to mention cubing to perfection gets so pointless only the most stupid of all idiots would do it. Every item will come with 32932 attack and be at unique already, duped and not netting Nexon a dime. From their standpoint as well as all from us who ever cubed anything, that is bad. Why the hell would I, or anybody for that matter, cube our full 140 sets to legendary when the stats we get out of it is a piss in the Nile compared to what will be common end game equips unless nexon acts? It leaves us to either join or leave. I will quit since I refuse to touch illegitimate crap like that.

Not to mention it would be plain stupid to make any kind of investment, time or money, in a game where the management shows us how little they value their own product. In the name of profit, let the missfits not only rule the game, but also how the profit is generated. Forget everything about corporate pride. Money talks.
