I absolutely don't see the point of making the hitbox of IS wider but narrower. Not when they don't do anything to Explosion or SR.
Actually, I would be happier if they made BB for Archmage Fire and Ice... then it'd properly be F/P and I/L. Why, it has nothing to do with the ultimates so why must I/L's BB be lightning? Unless of course they find that Ice-type BB with freeze is too overpowered... which is lame since we can already do that with IS... it's the element thing that matters more to me.

You already have an FSAoE that's Ice
You already have Ice Strike which has similar range to BB.
You already have an ice summon which is also AoE.
So why do you want another AoE ice move when you already have three? Big Bang is arguably better than Lightning from 2nd job, and it at least gives you something you didn't have before.

Ice Strike is obsolete in 4th job and Lightning Big Bang lacks the synergy that Fire Demon and Fire Big Bang have.

I beg to differ... I'm a lvl18x Bow Master (in MapleSEA) that train solo in Skele/ Duku/ NeoTokyo. Any time of the day, I will use Arrow Bomb over Inferno. You will not realize how useful they are until you actually fully utilize them, even in normal zakum run. The mob control is very very useful. The stun period of 5-6 sec, is very very useful. Sorry, if we don't share the same opinion, which make me question u if you're the one that hadnt played a BM b4.
I recognize that you're saying Inferno is being "stronger", but other than that, it's really not as "useful". On, a 1 vs.1 bossing situation, yea, maybe it's good, but I don't think u'll be using inferno when you have SOA. So, I'd say that its usage is "halved"
On the other hand, Arrow bomb; it's a nice skill for mob control, which is always useful. It could save urself from being aggrevating too many mobs at a time and couldnt finish them all in 1hit. It is pretty useful against flying mobs too. If a flying mob is stunned, they will stop flying and go to the bottom of the map, hence, *numbed/ stunned* and u'll be free for a couple of seconds to do whatever u want. Whether it be, type a chat, reply a pm, or loot an eq, re-buff, etc etc etc.
Hence, it's not entirely "worthless" (at least I wouldnt deem it as worthless if one knows how to use it properly)

I've always found any <100% chance stunning monsters to be near useless.
I'm sure you'll rethink that after Inferno becomes over 50% stronger than Arrow Bomb and Phoenix stuns mobs.

So yes, I do suppose that a Lightning element Big Bang is pretty dumb when Fire Big Bang can get a boost in damage. I'd assume they didn't want it to freeze targets. Why not just add a slow effect similar to the Aran's Snow Charge or at the very least have the Demon skills strike weakness to both elements the Archmage has to offer? Just a suggestion.

Thanks for your point too Dusk. Of course, I'd have to determine that when we do get BB in MapleSEA. However, you don't get Inferno Max out tat quickly until pretty late in the 3rd job of bowman and Phoenix is certainly not the first 3 skills that you would want to max out when you've reach 4th job. On the other hand, Arrow Bomb does stun at a pretty decent rate. At least within first 3 shots.
I am not sure about this point : Doesnt Arrow Bomb has a different dmg cap limit? (higher than Inferno? - which is Y lachy used it to solo Zakum? It was in his video, I didn't see the entire thing, probably Inferno also share the same dmg cap as Arrow Bomb, idk)

Since Arrow Bomb used to have a special critical system Arrow Bomb can break the damage cap, but since the damage cap is raised you probably won't be hitting over it anyway. I'm also not sure if that special critical carried over Big Bang, and I doubt it did anyway.

No, you max Inferno as the first skill as a Ranger now that Arrow Rain is crap.

A long time ago, Arrow Bomb did 50% damage to the monster that was hit by the impact and its damage output was total crap. My understanding is MapleStory only allows skills to have a single damage variable, so to apply the damage modifier, they made Arrow Bomb a 100% damage skill with a IA/Pierce-like modifier of 0.5x damage on impact and 1.3x damage on splash. They never bothered to change this when they changed Arrow Bomb, and to this day it works like a 100% damage attack with a 1.5x multiplier.
I don't think this effect will be noticeable after Big Bang unless someone can break the damage cap with Arrow Bomb, since the crit system was changed to be multiplicative, so it doesn't matter if they changed Arrow Bomb or not.

Post-Big Bang Arrow Bomb hits 310% on every hit. There is no impact damage, they removed that a long time ago during the last wave of rebalancing.

There isn't an impact damage but Arrow Bomb still acts like there is right now, it's just been adjusted to the same as the splash damage. It's currently possible to hit 299998 with Arrow Bomb.

I trust that you must have done alot of experimental Ranger SP re-distribution for you to make such bold claim, choosing Inferno to max out 1st, is indeed intriguing.

Big Bang 3rd job is completely based on mob training. There is absolutely no practical way of single target training. Level 1 Inferno does more damage than Arrow Bomb. Maxed Inferno does more damage than Arrow Bomb even on Fire Strong monsters. Prior to this change, you could go Inferno or Arrow Rain depending on where you trained, your style, and your damage. Now, Arrow Rain is no longer practical for training.

Are Evan's good now or still bad. I seen the vid and i cant tell Evans got a huge speed buff but earthquake is like 550 now instead of 610 what does that mean? and the range thing kind of sucks but i suppose having that awesome speed makes up for it or does it? any evans have a guess on how they compare to pre big bang and after big bang? before this patch?

If you use the search function, there's a thread when GMS tespia came out. Within those 70 pages, there is an SP user who specifically mentions how vengeance works and what it's animation looks like.
However, if you're too lazy, all it is is a polished up ninja storm (yeah the NL skill) that works for magic and physical attacks. You take the damage--> vengeance--> if works, damage is applied + stun + knockback. If not work--> monster just stays where it is. Also, it has a pretty purple light thing above your head that looks like a star.

Evan's are definitely different, in comparison to the slow yet powerful BB counterparts, the fast, multihitting, weaker per hit, and smaller range Evan is something totally new, almost like a whole new class. They are stronger, no arguing that, but I'm personally not a fan of EQ greater speed in exchange for lower damage and range, I feel like they should have increased the Speed of Illusion, Flame Wheel, and maybe Thrust and Evan combined with their new Dragon Blink skills and others would have been fine.
Mir looks really awkward attacking so fast.
But to reinforce the point, yes Evan's are stronger post Restructuring.

i think that we basically are a DPS class now with the speed and no longer hit as high but still pretty high and our speed is incredible now. on paper it sounds good. am i on the right track Don?
