very interesting stuff. I never would have thought Nexon would cut off so much of their income.

I'd guess the people who obsess over cubes are gonna spend that money one way or another, and when you have people dropping several grand on cubes, it adds up very quickly.

When the body is covered in track marks, and you've got no place to go... and you infect your leg, you better cut it off before you die. anyw, with an actual cash trade system, you guys are going to need permanent items... permanently. I don't remember if gMS cubes expire in 90 days or not, but anything else that does is going down 1/90th in price everyday + harder to sell... idk, kMS economy is as good as it gets post-big-bang.

I always thought Nexon should adjust their cash shop prices according to how much meso there is in game.
Or they could have simply deducted a good 30/40% of everyone's in-game mesos. I think EMS removed 90% at one point.

GMS cubes expire but i don't really see the point in making items that are generally consumed immediately permanent. Everything else needs to be permanent though, you're right.

xManuz Wrote:It's not like Nexon really get rid of all of them anyway Oh, I know. I mean they even failed to remove all EE-hacked items. ![]() And KhainiWest, I don't think just because the removal of MTS will mean less of an impact on markets/economies of servers. 95% of the time, exploits that harm the market can be done just mule accounts, and any exploiter could get their hands on any level character just about that they need. As far as I know, the level hack that's been private for a few months is still working. I agree it'll slow down the black market though, only because payment options for black market sellers are limited to basically Western Union, Moneypak, or Paypal. And almost nobody uses WU, MP is US only, and almost every seller is scared of charge backs using Paypal. When they had the NX option, they could sell everything for NX, and then sell their NX to their trusted buyers.

There are event cubes/other items. Anniversary cubes would be a good investment for the potential shoulderpads, and the 2nd tier rings we got. a lot of people have been getting amazing luck with them.

Last time i heard that from KMS it was before kenta PQ came out and people were getting 15% unique on their goggles. I've never seen unique goggles that haven't been cubed in GMS.

Luck is luck, so i refuse to believe the rings are cheaper to cube than other items or that i won't have terrible luck with them. Nexon doesn't inherently make items nicer to people unless they specifically say so.

Anniversary description states "better potential outcome" or something like that. and on par with amazing cubes for rank increase.

Nexon doesn't inherently make items nicer to people unless they specifically say so. But some items are better to cube than others, for % stats at least. Accessories have less potentials that aren't % stats compared to other items, so it'd be easier to get % stats on them than other items, which would mean it'd be cheaper, at least, theoretically. It's like, if you wanted to draw a red ball from a box, and there's ten in one box with twenty other colored balls, and ten in a different box with ten other colored balls, the chance of getting a red ball is 33% from the first box, and 50% from the second one, so your best bet would be choosing to chose a ball from the second box, you know? But, as you said, luck is luck.

RK's still have all their stars. but those weren't as mainstream, and i'm sure unstarr'd ST's were deleted for the most part too

They wanted to get rid of the circulating NX through the MTS, get rid of the MTS = people having lots of NX to spend on CS items and use that NX real quick...just look at these crazy deals in the CS. Now people MUST buy NX to get ANYTHING now and once MTS comes back = MASSIVE pay day. I could see them doing this a couple times a year when they bring it back. It'll be quite interesting at the end of the year to look at the difference in revenue. I'll expect to stupidly crazy insane new way for Nexon to work out the cash of everyone. I bet it'll be with the Pets when they have skills and equips that drop like other rare equipment and in gacha and recipe with a new cube for pet equips when you get amazing potential stats. All that good stuff!

Think about it though, the NX circulating in MTS can be used several times; all the nx in MTS is recycled over and over until someone decides to finally spend it on Cash items, at which point they disappear.

As far as I know, the level hack that's been private for a few months is still working. I agree, your second paragraph is essentially my reasoning. It forces a local economy, and a lot of worlds frankly won't have a big enough market to compensate the effort to do these exploits. Sure you can do mules and stuff, but it doesn't change the fact the players within the server are forced to use those resources within the server. If there's another item generator/meso generator, then my whole reasoning would be void. There's a lot of circumstances to consider but the big one is the lack of confident quick pay out, which will discourage many of people, but that's an opinion. |
