Nexon Q & A Followup

I fail to see how Nexon would lose anything. If you want to look specifically at GM scrolls, let's do that. First, are we looking at someone who is doing the absolute maximum to obtain a top-notch item?

Let's assume that we do have someone who will pay any amount to get the best possible item. Well, in this situation, GM scrolls aren't even used. Instead, we have 20% scrolls for 7-8 attack; we have to Ward these. Well, who wins in this situation? Nexon does, don't they? Nexon would get 50k NX in Wards, 28k in Scrolls (assuming it's more efficient than White Scrolls), and 8.5k in Hammers. Enhancements? Well, expect another pile of Wards.

Normally, It would be A LOT more than 50k in wards. If you're trying to 20% scroll a weapon with 9 slots, that would be 45 wards to be used on average. If a ward is even at reduced price at 5 bucks a pop, even that would total to 225 bucks on average. When all is said and done, it'd cost somewhere around 300-400 bucks to perfect 20% a weapon, and that's WITH a sale on wards/shields/etc.. It's completely impractical and I'd think most people, even well-funded people, wouldn't even THINK to try it, knowing the final expenses would be that large. All that for a mere 18 extra attack is completely not worth it.

Let's assume that we have someone who is poor, just willing to GM scroll. Well, chances are, this person can't afford to scroll it all at once. Now we have someone who would have to use Scissors every time they want to scroll it, on top of Hammers. There probably won't be many Enhancements, but in the end, Nexon still gets money.

It's not that Nexon wouldn't get money (and a lot of it), it's that nexon would get less if GMs wouldn't be around since whites/shields would not be very popular amongst everyone (non glove and non weapon equips aren't as crucial because they up to this point aren't commonly scrolled for attack, save for magic attack earrings - but there's no GM for that anyway). And I believe in fact that Nexon have gotten less than they normally would in sales from wards/shields/etc from GMs not going away.

Wards being used on enhancements would happen regardless of whether GMs would or would not be common, so that is a moot point. Nexon still gets money, but they get less with one scenario than the other. We're talking about the incredibly cheap option of GM-ing (with much less being spent on white scrolls/shields/wards/pams/etc), versus the incredibly expensive option of perfecting without GMs.
