Devil Wrote:Well, prices will drop, sure, but not THAT much, maybe 100 dollar less for the same this Christmas, so don't expect miracles.

But it's just the question of what you WANT to get. You -can- make a cheap game pc for 500 dollar, but you will hate yourself for spending the 500 dollars on it within a year, because you have to upgrade everything AGAIN next summer.

You can also keep in mind that the next gen consoles will come out in summer ~ christmas 2013 with full hd and all new eye candy, maybe that is a better investment if you want a good "game pc". You will never have to upgrade your console again for the coming 5 years (that will be 2018 by then) and keep playing games smoothly without having to worry about your PC hardware.

For Maplestory, you can even leave out a videocard, because the new Core i5 and i7 onboard GPU is quite ok for 2d gaming.

But if you're really into smooth PC 3D gaming, yeah, new (good) hardware will cost you a lot of money.

Hmm...I like the idea of IPS monitors but they aren't made for gaming, and my build is mostly for gaming. They still have high input lag and high response times as well as that "glow" when showing blacks. And they ghost. Yes, their colors are badass which makes them better for photo editing, etc. Believe it or not I got some crazy vision and can notice input lag/ghosting like a beast. I don't really care about insane color reproduction or AMAZING viewing angles since I'll be sitting in front of my monitor. I want to go with 120hz and their colors and viewing angles are good enough for me.

Can anyone recommend me a good 120hz monitor? I don't want IPS. I'm a gamer not a designer. I care more about FPS than I do color reproduction.
