That is what i'm fighting. Not that it is prolonged, but that you allowed it to happen in the first place. You can make it sound like i did something wrong by promoting it, but i'm merely pointing out that you did something that you shouldn't have. You shouldn't be arguing with people if they shouldn't be arguing about it at all. You got pulled in. You are no better than them for that exact reason no matter how right you may be.
People are free to share their opinions on changes. If I didn't want them to be able to do so I would've created the thread as closed from the get go, or closed it at any point I felt additional commentary was no longer worth making available.
Digressions are a natural part of all conversations in group settings as people try to insert their own agenda into the flow. Case in point; You're doing it right now, still.
You're the only one in this thread who's been saying people shouldn't have different opinions or try to discuss those differences. Telling me how I should be acting based on a rule that you've imagined is just silly.
I'm not even going to try to dissect how anyone could possibly be "better" than anyone else in this scenario you've created, but I think it suffices to say your understanding of the situation is flawed.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
