I know how difficult it is because I've moderated forums larger than SP before. It's a part of internet forums, and there will always be someone doing crazy things. However that's not good enough reasoning to affect the experience of every user on the site.

Like I said, if someone really wanted to troll THAT badly, filtering out posts in certain threads is not going to doing anything to deter them, especially if they are willing to evade IP bans in order to do it.
