I have to admit that made me chuckle. I hated church, I thought it was boring, irrelevant and just a waste of a sunday. But to people like my Aunt, it's a social experience, and it has some merit. If majority of your neighborhood goes to church, it doesn't mean "hey BIBLE THUMPIN TIME BRO". Half the time it's just an easy way to break the ice with your neighbors, plan events, and just have fun.

I'm not sure you've been to a church, and trust me I don't blame you if you haven't, but it isn't necessarily a religious outlet for everyone attending.
