Firstly, your questions were already answered in the Character card System thread, it the very first post.
So it's just your base max hp.
And after lots of testing in the character card thread, there is a difference, but the bonuses aren't that great. Read the thread for more.
Also: Little questions like these should go in the Maple Q&A section next time
